We arrived at 22nd and Liberty Avenue to meet with the rest of the people from the Rebel Legion, 501st and Mandalorians. Once everyone changed we headed down to our lineup point in the parade
While we waited in for the parade to get going, we schmoozed with other groups and took photos. Dancing was not in short supply as we had plenty of reason to do so. We had music from the Puxatawney Phil Bus and the Imperial Jeep from the 501st Garrison Carida. We danced with Steely McBeam and various other mascots.!!
Once the parade got moving the on lookers cheered and shouted at us, " Long live the Rebellion", "Down with the Sith". Then others would shout, "Down with the Jedi". In good form, we laughed, waved and smiled. When the traffic stopped we would pose in our best Jedi action shot. The crowd loved it.
The Mandalorians true to form, pointed their weapons at our backs!! That was fun!! Then some of us would turn it around and pose in their direction.
As we arrived to the Reviewing Stands, Luke Skywalker and Lord Vader staged a 30 second battle for the Parade Staffs pleasure. (A big round of applause to Ryan Miorelli and Dave McLaughlin)
Oh did I mention that the Rebel Legion won for the second year in a row : First Place in the Non Irish Senior Male Dancer Division!!
Boo yah!! Happy!!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this great event, your hard work and effort really paid off!!
