That was so much FUN Last weekend! The coloring and velvet on your dress is phenomenal. Thank you for posting that pattern!

Thanks for posting the pattern pictures!

I'm having trouble imagining how the shape of the outer hood turns into the complete piece. Does the bottom trailing part only drape down the back? I thought it would have draped down the front too, but I can't see that in the pattern. Do you cut out two of that piece and attach one in the front? Sorry if that doesn't make sense...

Ah, that's just the back. That's the part I had the most trouble with....it drove me nuts knowing that the hood has NO seams on the entire back part, and only a seam on the top of the hood and the front of the tabbard/hood.

I'll post pics of the front, soon.

Also, Jenna, I'll post pics showing the entire range of color on the gown, and would like to ask your opinion on the coloring. Since I plan on redoing the main (under) gown and sleeves, any input on whether it needs changing is helpful.

Other notes:
-The gown has an elastic waistband. (Mine only sort of does and this will be fixed in the rest of the rebuild). The zipper goes much of the way down to the waist.
-The appearance version of the gown has a tabard that is sewn on the back to the obi, and is tucked into the front of the obi. HOWEVER, the movie version of the gown has a tabard that goes all the way to the floor at least in the front.
-The sleeves bell both front AND back. In other words, the side-to-side diamond corners also appear slightly in the front-back direction.
-Red sleeves close with hooks.

More as I think of it, along with picture.

Ok, this is long overdue, but here are my pics from the Rose Parade appearance gown.

Please don't repost without permission. Smile BUT, feel free to download, use, ask away from anything that will help with your gown.

Thanks!

It's not where I want it to be, but I'm getting closer.
Saving up for another order of silk velvet. Smile
Now that I have a serger, I'm hoping to really do a better job.

Very nice color. Smile I somehow missed the updates here. Probably because I was thrown off the boards while writing an update. (Some times it just takes more than an hour to do so, okay?)

I did my hood/tabbard a bit different from you, so here's my pattern:
(Note: the back pattern is only half a pattern; it is folded along the middle of the back)

Front:

How are things going with your upgrade?
