Hi all

While Im waiting for my custom made lightsaber for my Visas Marr, Im just wondering, if any of you know, where I can get a lightsaber with a yellow blade ??

Having trouble finding one... and the one, that Im going to get made is with a red blade, since Im also with the 501st. - and the maker cant make it with a yellow blade.

I do know, that I can use almost any other color then red here in RL, but I want to be as accurate as possible with my costume.

Cheers

Check out the FX saber forum, Any of the smiths there could do one. I believe I've seen few there.

I have an amber(which is a bit more orange-ish) saber from SF like this:

As Mel already mentioned, there are plenty of smiths on FX or IRA that could help you with this. Now that there are plenty of soundboards with colormixing, this is much easier to achieve than ever before. Good luck!

short answer: color mixing red and green on a multi die LED will get you a yellow if you control the mix

But you're better off reading up on it on FX and TCSS boards. FX being IMO easier to navigate for a newbie, TCSS having a lot of the same info but organized differently.

Or get a white LED and put a LEE Filter on the lense, you'll have to do some switching to see which yellow you like the best.

Only problem with that is that filters make the overall light less bright.

I'd definitely opt for color mixing first, unless it was like a WWW LED or something.

Why not just get it made with the ability to color change so you can use the same one? It should in theory cost less than getting an extra, right?

So, good news... HL can make me an extra blade with the light in, so I can toogle the blades between red and yellow, when being on troops for either 501st. or RL Wink and only 45$ extra for it.

Im so happy right now !

This is exactly what I did... my saber came from Ultrasabers, and I ordered it with the silver blade, then got a Lee filter sample book for $1 and cut two small discs in a nice golden yellow hue (doubling up the filters makes for a deep, rich color). This gives me the flexibility to make whatever color I like, with very little cost.

It sounds easy - but Im not so good with electronics, and two blades can work too + is also not so big a cost Wink
