Fire Orange is a distinctly orange colour. The best way to get yellow from Ultrasabers is by using white blades with colour discs.

Face characters have often been approved with Ultrasabers that are roughly similar to their character Saber, Ahsoka in particular has difficult sabers that are very expensive to custom make, and I've seen plenty of Ahsoka's approved with simple sabers. It would be a pity if the Legion specifies a custom staff instead of, say, an Aeon LE staff that looks great and is considerably more affordable than a custom.

For reference: this is Fire Orange (in a dark-ish room, the true color is best seen on the left hand side of the picture):

From top to bottom (in a sunny room): Guardian Blue, Pyrestone Orange (shifts redder), Fire Orange (it might not have a fully charged battery in this one) and Sunrider's Destiny - but note, the sunlight on the blades kind of washes out the color in this picture, look at the glow on the carpet for the true colors.

Fire Orange and Pyrestone Orange are both usually pretty orange in person; Fire Orange is like a candle flame or orange Gatorade and Pyrestone is like a traffic cone orange.

You can actually get a yellow saber from Ultrasabers - it's an extra $10 or so I think, and you can get the code and instructions on how to order Sentinel Yellow if you join their forum. Or, you can get a saber with Emerald and then you can adjust it to have any color you want, but that's the expensive option.

Edited to add: on the forum, it's listed under "Ultra Saber Questions" and the thread title is "Forum colors and how to order them"

I just wanted to bump this because the latest episode of Star Wars:Rebels had the Jedi Temple guards in a Force visions, but they were wearing a different outfit.

This costume has potential.

I have wanted to build a temple guard for some time, this has just made it worse. This was a good 15 page read. I may have to ask you some more detailed questions about the keys, like size. How tall and wide? And I will have to look at other posts to figure out how you did the light saber, unless you care to share more about how you did it? Those aspects I can handle myself. The making of the robes tho, I will have to find someone to make it for me. Very nice work tho. One day I shall have my own.

Sorry, I had missed the last couple of posts... feel free to ask whatever questions you'd like and I'll do my best to answer. Smile

And... I have updates! I'm trying to get everything finished up on this costume and submitted for approval before MegaCon. Boots and saber are really the only things I have left. The boots are in progress, but with no pictures.

I've been working on an aluminum build of the saber, but because of time constraints, I'm trying something new. I redid my 3D model of the saber and broke it apart for 3D printing. I just got it mocked up today, and it really feels good to hold this thing! And now off to do a lot of surface prep... Smile

Thanks!

I've been doing a lot of surface prep and just started painting. Here's some progress on the one emitter. Raw print, smoothed/primed, and gloss black base (with the first aluminum detail painted on).

For anyone playing along at home, I got another round of paint on the saber today. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish the paint up tomorrow. I decided to go with the Rebels paint scheme, rather than the TCW concept art, and didn't add the silver edge to the outer leaf (couldn't tell definitively if it was present in TCW episodes).

And the external portion of the saber is done!

Now on to boots...

Wow! Great catch Lora! No test, jut me using the wrong side of the concept art by mistake. I hadn't noticed until my wife pointed it out to me. Smile

Haha! Can you tell I'm used to looking at details? Razz But it's still a great saber.
