I had some of my friends send me some photos of their thermal detonator on their Biker Scout....and...
the Endor Rank badges are not even close to a Scout's Detonator...

For the record.....
here is the Endor rank badge that I make...it looks similar...cutting in half and using the left side in this photo:
BUT...it is not really correct...
I have never felt that my rank badge was accurate especially that part in question on the upper left hand corner in the photo..
I have asked the Scouts in my Garrison for a high res photo of thier greeblie...
it is something I would consider making but only if I re-sculpt my current one...

looks like the 3d print is missing the cylinder on the right side. The paint can be seen where its worn away from the blueray cast part.
who KNOWS that this things tarted life as! I dont recognize any model parts on this one, unlike SO many other ROTJ parts that started life from the Tamiya Midnight Special motorcyle kit. I have the sprue sitting here on my desk that has parts for the scout snow, Boushhs vibro axe, etc. That mold got around!
I have one from Phyllis and one from DonJarr, so Ive got two makers on my vest. Both look great.

Thanks Christian...re-making that rank badge sculpt...then re-molding is something I will put on my to do list for this winter..
and maybe also make a sculpt and mold for the Biker Scout while I am at it...

Well....due to the fact that I am having a Rebel version of an armor party at my place...
and one of the things that one of our members is interested in is molding and casting...
I have begun work on a new Endor Commando badge and at the same time the greeblie for the Biker Scout...
as with all of this stuff....getting a clear picture of what they really looked like is difficult...
there are a lot of versions (as I have found out) that are essentially the same....but not really...
I do think that the greeblie for the Scout needs to be less than 3cm tall to fit in the depressed section on the Scout's thermal det...
anyway...
this is me trying to brainstorm both....
the white resin pieces in the photos are my old Endor rank badge and one cut in half to mimic the Scout's.
nothing is glued....it is all guesswork at this time..
