So I want to create the Queen Amidala Return to Naboo dress but I am being very confused on the closure system.

So some images show that there are loops and buttons on the dress. I'm confused on this; my grandma (also a seamstress) thinks she unbuttoned the shoulders and pulled the dress on over her head.

I kinda find this un-Queen like especially cause she has hand maidens to dress her and that dress has gotta be heavy.

So this one you can clearly see the Loops and Buttons on the left side

This one if you look close you can see some on the right as well.

My question for thous who did get to see this dress in life or for any to speculate; How did she get into that dress (at least the over coat)? Thanks for any help and ideas. Very Happy

P.S. I hate zippers I feel they can go die in the deepest pits of hell along with the person who created them. I can put them in to look very good and professional (this is what I'm told so not bragging here), I just hate putting them in and they make things lay weird especially nice formal stuff. [/img]

The "V" shaped front (which comes down to a point at the front) closes on the (dress-wise) left side with either hooks and eyes or snaps.
You can see them (or rather sort of guess them since they have a different sheen compared to the surrounding silk velvet) in this image:

Hope that helps Smile

Making this gown myself right now! I am in the planning stage, I was just going to figure out how they did it, or just run it up the back where the hood covers it

The original is probably closed in the front, with the stomacher that covers the closure. I chose to put a zipper in the back, since it's invisible under the veil. Also I couldn't figure out how I could have a closure in the front, but no seam at the center front of the mandarin collar.
