I found a pair of raw silk curtain panels at a local store for $5.99. This has a few seams where it's not supposed to but the panels were only 36X84. I worked on it yesterday and today. It has not been ironed yet, I just finished it. I'll work on the robe tomorrow.

Test fitting my new saber today! This is made from a piece of chrome drain pipe, a doorbell. a faucet knob, a hairbrush, a garden hose repair end, a sink flange and some scraps that I had laying around.

Looking good!

I like how you came up with a decent lightsaber. Very nice work.

I will say that for Old Ben, I think the tabards need to be a bit longer.

I was limited by the size of the panels. They were only 36X84.

I am also impressed with your light saber work. Very inventive.

On the tabbards you can extend them by putting a seam under the obi sash. The tabbard doesn't have to be one piece. You already have the section that goes around the neck to your waist on either side. Just cut them off so the seam is hidden under the sash and extend them down to the knee caps.

It will have to be a different fabric. I used all but a palm-sized patch of both panels.

Can you order more panels? Maybe find them on the web?

I did find a swatch of linen today that matches the weave and color so I can extend the tabard.

I need need to find an acceptable saber now. Any suggestions?

If you are talking about an FX saber with light-up blade and sound - you can find them on Ebay. If you live near a Books-a-Million they sometimes stock the Hasbro fx sabers. They list for $150.00 but they usually have them on sale for 20% off. If you are a member you get an additional 10% off. If there are none near by try the webpage. The Hasbro saber has a removable blade but the hilt doesn't have a hook to hang it off your belt.

If you are talking about the ANH replica saber hilt only - good luck. Once in a while there will be one on Ebay from Master Replicas but get ready to spend some money because they aren't cheap.

I'm not sure your outer robe is going to pass. It needs to be able to be closed in the front. From your pictures it looks like it slopes back to each side at the bottom and is totally open in the front. Other than that it looks good to me.

whats your budget for it? If it has to have lights and sound you will pay a good amount.

If you want just a hilt you can do a Parks MKIII, probably the most economical unless you catch someone selling one cheap.

If you want a real accurate hilt, go to the RPF and look up "Roman's Empire", his parts are the most accurate I have seen, my AFBB Obi ANH is all his parts.

If you want lights and sound, my advice is check the Force FX forums, you should find a few of them in the "for sale" section

Hope this helps

Dave
