The fur I'm using is a great pale blue color, and the fur has a great length to it also. The only thing that really concerns me is that, while I was looking on the roster at some of the other Snow Bunny Padmes, most of the fur I saw had a slightly feathery texture to it. In the standards, it only says "pale blue fur." So is the feathery-textured fur required for formal approval?

The standards say "pale blue fur". So you should be fine with your fur.

When I made mine, I used dyed feather boas because I liked the way it moved and looked better than the fur I could find locally, but either is acceptable.

My original capes were made with marabou feather trim since it was light and flowy. I found over time it shed a lot and lost the fluff. My newest cape is made with a 3" long fox fur that I dyed blue. It's light and fluffy and sooooooo soft.

Hey Ladies, I just wanted to thank you for your advice Smile I did try using this beautiful pale blue fur I bought online. Even though the color was very accurate (as it was a very pale, icy blue) the fur was much too heavy. It really added too much weight to the cape. So I tried using pale blue feather boas, and they work perfectly! Very Happy I hope to have this costume finished for the winter.

Thanks Raychel! I got my Snow Bunny approved as formal in September, I'm very grateful and pleased Smile

I've also added a small button inside of the hood to make sure that it stays connected at the neck at all times

Beth (Blue) was kind enough to suggest something to keep the hood connected and I gladly took her advice Amadalia
