for a formal costume which covertec clip is needed the square one or rounded one or does it matter when looking i see very few square ones and they are stating the rounded one is new style

Hello!! if you mean the over all shape? then its the one that will closest match the character your trying to be. Its most likely square right?

While it does not matter too much, it is recommended to match the clips seen in the movies as close as possible.

Do you have pictures of the clips you're looking at?

On a little sidenote, some punctuation might make your posts a bit more
pleasant to read.

this is the old style but every time itry to order one its says out of stock

Thecustomsabershop.com has the square ones in stock. Just bought mine about three weeks ago.
