I was trying to work out a "Call-Sign" for my X wing pilot and and then it hit me and why.

For the past 35 years Karate (Shotokan 4th Dan) has been a big part of my life. Symbol of which is the Tiger.

When I started costuming one of my first was Tigris Falco. Latin for Tiger Falcon.

His nickname has always been by a lot of people as

"Tiggers"

My helmet has tiger strips.

So my call-sign will be.

Tigg.

So what's yours?

This is just for fun.

Delta5Actual is a call sign I got in the Navy during the first Gulf War. I was in charge of group of RT phone operators during the embargo period . We called all ships heading into and out of Iraq, verified port of origin, check cargo, and then determined if a boarding party needed to be dispatched if anything was suspicious. There were 4 operators designated Delta 1,2,3, and 4. Since I was in charge, my designation was Actual. 5th member, Delta call sign, and then Actual. Hence, Delta5Actual.

The irony was that after I got out, I joined the Army Nat. Guard. For about a year, I commanded a M1 tank crew. We were the 5th tank in the column and since I was in charge, I again was designated Actual. My call sign over the net was Delta5Actual. I cant seem to shake that handle.... Razz

IIRC the callsign given to me was "Shotgun", because I am amazing adept at calling shotgun.

Wait, I thought it was "Trebuchet" or "Jetpack" because you desperately want one of each.

Hey, he HAS a trebuchet.

As of yet, I have not had a nickname stick. Thankfully, because most of them sucked.

Hm, no "real live" story behind my callsign... Sad

As my fictional SW character Okami Dai was born 29 BBY and is flying an A-wing starfighter -> "Green 29"

Not that much fantasy, but it "fits", imho...

BTW, whats that "trebuchet" thing about, I can´t follow....? Embarassed

A trebuchet is a medieval siege weapon:

Preferred ammunition types are dead bodies, stuff on fire, and cats.

In the military, we gave a couple guys the nickname "NoNiGi".We pronounced it No-Nih-Gee. It stood for No Nickname Given. Think that would "stick"? Very Happy

Blue Leader is a name I use... well... almost everywhere online. I used to go by another name online, but I changed it a few years ago to something much simpler-- this one.

The name actually comes from a Mobile Suit Gundam story I wrote, and am still writing, about a team called the "Blue Banshees". The leader of the team was, obviously, referred to as "Blue Leader". No, it has no relation to Star Wars, even though everyone on he 'net thinks it does. Laughing

If I had used a Star Warsy one it probably would have been Ryl Leader or possibly Ryl Three, as the Star Wars fanfiction I've been writing centers around a B-wing squadron called the Shadows of Ryloth squadron where all the members are Twi'leks... except for one human who gets assigned to the unit, much to the leader's distaste.

The username I used to go by was a canon Zeon Zum Deikun, who is a character from Gundam that I always found rather interesting.

The name I use here, Blue Banshee Leader, is only because Blue Leader was taken when I tried to register, much to my disappointment. So I stuck the "Banshee" in there because it was all I could think of at the time. Razz

And no, my username has no relation to the Kashyyyk Base squadron.
