Thanks to the new Star Wars Comic series that has recently released.
This series is based between Episodes 4 & 5.
We get to see for the first time Stealth X-Wing Pilots. Wow this costume looks awesome
What needs to happen in order to get this new costume approved?
I realise that we need more images than are currently available.
From two of pictures there seems to be two different variation of the chest boxes. One has hoses coming out of each side at the top. The other one has the hose coming out of the bottom of the chest box instead.
These images are the images that have been released so far:

For a new Standard we'd need ...
1) A few more reference pics. Right now, we don't see the back views, and the front views differ significantly.
2) We'd have to discuss how we'd blend in existing costume parts (i.e. the flak vest. Every artist draws it differently, so we'd have to discuss going with their versions, or just go with a correct color version of the existing flak vest - be forewarned, this will be a big issue as we're having some serious issues with flak vests coming through the Costume Queue right now.)
3) A comprehensive standard would have to be written - my guess is by taking the existing X-wing standard and making alterations re: colors and details.
4) We'd have to differentiate THIS Stealth X-wing Pilot from the Stealth X-wing Pilots from the novels as they're two different time periods as well as costume details. _________________ Jon Paulson • Cmdr. Tag "HazardThree" Greenly

Thanks for your input I knew this costume was going to be hard from the get go with such little information that is available currently. At least I now have a starting point to work from _________________

It will be interesting to see where this goes. Hopefully more reference photos will become available as the series continues. _________________ The True Darth Haggis ● Website ● @darth_haggis

More than happy to BeeJay, I was speaking to Domino about it the other day too.
I just wish the next issue would come out so there could be some more reference photos.
The artist's are currently showing two distinct different chest boxes. I wish they would just pick a design and stick to it
We really need 360 degree images of the suit and the helmet.

What do you suggest we call this new X-Wing costume since the comic's are referencing it as Stealth X-Wing? _________________

New Republic Pilot Uniform?
I have an Informal stealth Rebel Pilot that has been in my profile for quite some time. It's the same as my orange suit, just black:

Covert X-Wing perhaps?
I'd ignore the cover shots and stay to whats inside the issue.
Flightsuit.
Compared to the gloves and belts it looks to be a deep Grey.
The collar seems to be a combination of mandarin and standard.
The arm pinstripes stop at the shoulder seam at some point and go to the neck seam in others, but always to the cuff.
Flak Vest
Same Grey as flight suit, similar to the standard one allowing for artistic interpretation.
Chest Box
Grey straps like flight suit, Green rockers and "buttons", slightly different configuration to the standard chest box.
Belts / Straps
These are the same grey as the flight suit
We still need some good below the knee shots as well to see what they have done with the leg flares.
There is inconsistency with the belts, with some having the std belt with flares and others just having the "gun" belt.

I disagree. They look a shade darker than the flightsuit. _________________ James Norman

I agree it also looks to be a shade darker as well.
But like I have said previously we need more reference shots. _________________

As soon as I saw this in the comics I thought the same thing - how long until someone makes it? Definitely cool looking gear _________________ Nahon-Ish Maee

Don't forget Anakin, there's also Green, Grey, Red and the white Dress Uniform options if you're "Orange" challenged. Not to mention the Prequel pilots! _________________ Jon Paulson • Cmdr. Tag "HazardThree" Greenly
