I have finally begun work on my Jedi. I'm starting with the pants just so I can get back into the feel of working with patterns, material and stitching. It was a simple pattern and I'm using Osnaburg for the material.

After cutting out the pattern. I stitched the pieces separately then stitched them together.

Finally installed elastic banding in the waist and hemmed up the legs for the final product.

Next project will be the under tunic with mandarin collar in a dark brown linen.

oh, pants... I've always been afraid to try and sew pants for some reason... I'm curious to see your pattern for the mandarin collar undertunic, sounds interesting Smile

Interesting... Since it's a women's pattern, how much did you have to do to scale it to men's dimensions?

For the inner tunic pattern: I haven't dug into the packet yet so I will let you know what comes of it! I'm going to get the material this weekend and start working on it.

For the boots: I ordered them from Overstock.com. Here's the link

I picked up a copy of it. Going to try it maybe for my next tunic set (a 'dark jedi') and I hope I have enough material though, since I bought the material planning on using it for another pattern. Gotta get my Jedi rebuild done first though before I get into that too much Smile

I do wonder though, since I'm going with the mandarin collar, does my belt and saber clip style need to be New Jedi order (single wide belt with hook and D-ring) or can I still go with the prequel style double layer belt and covertech saber clip?

The New/Old Republic distinctions have (finally) been removed for Generic Jedi standards; you are much more free to mix elements/colors/etc that used to be prescribed to only one or the other: http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39468

Looking forward to seeing this one completed. Rebuilding my Jedi at the moment since the wife now has my tunics and tabbards. No idea how it is going to wind up, but I had looked at the mandarin collars for the inner tunic, too. No time to change my plan now, but may after I see how it turns out for you Smile

Yeah, with the new standards of generic you can mix things up a bit and not have the line between new/old republic. Some things are more stringent while others are relaxed. So a lot of mixed feelings on the change both good and bad. I think overall though the good outweighs the bad.

I'm tempted now to actually do a mandarin style undertunic as well. We'll see if my second jedi gets approved and if not maybe I'll change that up while I'm at it.
