Looks good to me.

The key points are:

Natural materials.
Two exterior pockets - the top flap strap needs to be between them.
Metal buckles and fittings - no plastic or nylon, no snaps that we could find either.

They appear to be post-WW2 Chech or Yuogoslav, at least that's where the majority of the "surplus" items are advertised as.

The A.L.I.C.E. (All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment) type equiment was standard issue for the US at the time the movies were made, and would have been out of place for "a long time ago...far, far away".

And +1 for finding an European source for these.

We have several here in the US, but they either will not ship outside of the US or the "international shipping" is horrendous.

Which is kind of funny, as they are imported from Europe in the first place!

anton: That is I think the italian mountain troops backpack. Smile

Mac Bragg: Actualy, they are very easy to find, but the problem for searching is that the e-shops wich sell them dont have a english version of their site so you have to know the correct name Smile
For example, you can buy the CSLA large backpack with straps for around 3-10 USD.

So for finding the czech backpack in google, it will be easier to switch to the czech version of google and write these terms:
"CSLA velká polní"
"Velká polní Vz.60"
"Tlumok Vz.60"
"Batoh Vz.60"
...

I can give you some link to several czech armyshops wich sells them.

note: These backpacks are a simplified version of the pre-WWII czech backpack (wich was based on the austro-Hungarian WWI model) modified to incorporate the german inspired straps. The term Vz.60 (Vzor 1960 - Model 60, Pattern 60 whatever) is not correct but is used because many people asociate this backpack with the Vz.60 uniform, even if this type of backpack is older Smile
