So over at the Custom Saber Shop you can buy components from their Modular Hilt System with a bevy of different colors, all powder-coated aluminum.

I've seen some similar hilts before, mostly from the more specialized sabersmith artists. Red hilts with engraved flames in them, or green ones with knotwork or ivy engravings.

I don't see anything prohibiting them from generic Jedi, I was just curious what others thought of colored hilts. From splashes of colored rings to all out sections in bold colors, what do you all think of them? Are you a purist and only want to ever see metallics and the occasional black section, or would you like a saber that looks like it was painted like a 57' Chevy?

I would consider myself to be a "purist" when it came to seeing costumes and accessories for mainstay characters. However, I would think that if it "worked" as far as blending or accenting the "theme" of the costume it would be interesting to see. I guess like a"steampunk" version of a Jedi or such.

The "image" of flames like on a '57 Chevy adorning the hilt of a lightsaber is intriguing, to say the least Evil or Very Mad

The Generic Jedi offers a level of creativity with the costume, including the lightsabers. Honestly, I would like to see more dreative design in our Jedi lightsabers!

I would ONLY caution those who make lightsabers that could clearly be seen as "Sith" lightsabers. Color combinations (on the hilt) that are considered clearly "Sith" by the RL are red and black (together). Such "Sithy" lightsabers might not be allowed for as a costume component for Jedi.
