Feet attached to the stilts, adjusted and on!

Still need a little tightening and adjusting. Walked around the house. Was fairly stable, just nerve racking. Now I can start with hair on the feet!

What have most of you done to hide the "sunken knee look" with the stilts?
Maybe use some 4 sale sign plastic and foam to fill out the front of the leg?

Wrapped the ankle of the stilt and got it ready for hair.

How far down should I be adding hair? It should only lay on the ground about an inch or so, right? About like this?

How's the spacing?

This is my first hour of work.

Using the latch hook tool, going easy but I'm having a hard time keeping the hair from knotting up as I pull a bit from the main bundle of hair. Has anyone made a drawing mat that works well?

Looks great. I was at this stage last week. Did you keep the shin separate from the foot? It looks like you made a continuous wrap of the entire unit which will prevent or hinder the natural flex of the stilt ankle. I made this mistake myself and had to correct it before hair went on.

I thought about that. My feet/shins are hollow all the way down with the "foot" cut out so the stilt goes through. The foam foot is actually 1/8" off the ground. The foot of the stilts is all that touches the ground. This allows the full tilt of the ankle, and makes the foot bend as I walk. Still haven't gotten the toes on so I'm not sure how much modification will be needed.

By the way, Andy, I'm planning on stealing a few things you've shown on your thread Smile Great job so far!

Hair for the second foot is done, just not attached. I need to get more of the #27 because I feel that the color is a "hair" (get it? hair?) too dark. I'll blend in more of the #27 as I move up the leg.

For my shin I'm thinking about modifying shin guards or making a foam wrap so you can't see the dent in the front of the leg from my shin. Still figuring this out...

On vacation for the next few days so I hope to get some work done on the legs!

Steal? Ha. I'm happy to give back to a generous community and anything that I might have employed that you see as suitable for your build is flattering to me.

Feet are done and hair is thinned. On to the next step.

Do you have plans on painting his toe nails darker?

The toes really aren't as bright as they seem in the picture. The LED lighting in the kitchen is just mad bright.
I plan on "weathering" them a bit, kinda "old" looking.
