Hi all - about to start the adventure of creating Tarfful - I've been scouring the forums for months gaining info from everywhere I can.

I've kinda got an idea on the Kanekalon numbers I need ( and need to blend a lot too ) but struggling with any idea on packet amounts.

Anyone have any advice please ?

Thanks

Here's a link to the 'hair site' I've found.

http://www.cyberloxshop.co.uk/home.php

they seem to have 4 main brands name for kanekalon - from reading the forums I think I might go for the LA trend

Cheers ^_^

My dad is building Tarfful. I'll ask him how much he ordered of which colors.

If you latch hook as much as I did, you can easily order 80 packs of hair. I didn't miss many holes on the mesh and I cut the hair in half, not 3rds.

I've purposely hooked it thick, since I know I can always thin it out with thinning sheers and some will fall out when being brushed. Plus, since it's Tarfful, I really wanted him to be larger than life. With my stilts on, I will be 7'10". My padded undersuit top and bottoms will help as well.

Lesson I learned: It's easier to sew muscle pad into your undersuit while wearing it, but be careful. More than once, I sewed my shorts into the undersuit... Whoops!

I'm actually building a Chewie, but just for curiosity sake, what color "numbers" does it take to make a Tarfful? Meaning Chewie is mostly #27 and #4 with some other highlights, what is the bulk colors needed for Tarfful?

After reading every possible thread in Tarfful, I decided to use #6 for the dark brown and 613/27 for the blonde bits.

I'd read a couple of posts that stated what 'colours' the builders had used

WookieGunner on here said
6 and 8 for the body - mixing the two together
4 for the dreads ( but used 2 and 4 so not positive on which one )
613 and 24 for the blonde parts - mixing the two together

on another forum a member said

1B, 2, 4, 6, 11, 22, 613 mixing various ratios as needed

( ... although on the supply site I found there are 3 1B options - must mean the off black alone ? )

Cheers
