Hello all,

My Mustafar Padme is just about done but I'm having a hard time trying to find a wig for it that can be styled the right way. I think the advice that I've gotten so far is to get a long wig and then buy accessory braids to go with it for the figure 8 attached to the main wig.

I already purchased a wig for my Aqua Georgette and it should be here shortly but as for Mustafar with my very short hair I don't have anything to work with.

Any helps, websites or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'll be following this thread! I'm STILL looking for that perfect, long wig to braid into the long braid. But I find it is hard to find a good wig that doesn't have some stupid bangs making it hard to work with Razz

My new favourite wig source is Arda Wigs, and they have a great bangless, very long wig:

They sell quality wigs, and they sell matching wefts of hair that are great for all the fun add-ons you have to do for Padme's hair, so I highly recommend them.

I found a wig on eBay for my Mustafar costume, but it just seemed to fake to me, because I'm not used to seeing myself in a wig. Sellers from China often have great prices for wigs. You can do a search for cosplay wigs too.

Wigs are super tough to make look real when they are a "hard front" synthetic wig. Lace fronts are great if you can afford them.

If your hair is brown, or if you are willing to be Padme with your natural hair color, I can't recommend 3/4 wigs enough. The front of your hairline shows and the wig roots about 2-3 inches back on your head. You then use your own hair to cover the seam.

Looking at the Mustafar hair style, if you again are brunette or are going with your own hair color, a full wig may not be necessary, but rather a clip on extension that you have prestyled.

This is what I ended up doing, I make the figure "8" buns with my own hair and then clip a braid to it.

Here's me with the wig:

If anyone is looking for full or partial wigs at a reasonble price, Jenny's hair sense it a great resource. They are very natural looking. They have an ebay store and a website.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have a pixie cut so it's difficult to find what I'm looking for.

I can't wait till both Padme's are done!

Yay. My wig is on it's way but now I"m wondering what to use for the figure eight bun/braid. Any suggestions?

I used a pack of yaki hair in the same color and made a braid, then attached it to two low ponytails in the back. I then braided the ponytail hair into the main braid, made the figure 8, then pinned the snot out of it. Any remaining hair then went into the long braid.

This method actually makes restyling the wig itself much easier because I can just take the braided yaki part off.

I will never buy wigs online because I can't have a try before buying it.

I'm using a very long, bangless brown wig for my Leia costumes. It's good quality, but from my experience with that wig is that it's better to go for a shorter wig and then add extensions for the braids, buns or other things that you need to get the right hairstyle.
