years and years ago I ordered my RFT/Gunner belt boxes on line from a place similar...

if you have ever seen my belt boxes ....they are pretty representative of what the boxes look like...

the boxes do open and the inside is hollow...they are VERY light...
but..
they might not have the exact size you are looking for...

if you have a large electrical supply area near your house...it might be a place to poke around..

Just thinking out loud here...

I do have a vacuum form table I built years ago, but never tested it...I never got around to making the oven/heater, but can use kitchen oven. I am sure that Tara will love that Smile
I might mess with that and try to make some boxes.. not sure where to get the plastic, but something for me to think about.

check with Steve Gaza, Kevin Skiera, or Ted Ruler. They would probably be able to tell you where to get sheets. I know Ted has a small table he uses to vac form his maul stencils. Thumbs up

I am not up on suppliers anymore...

YEARS ago I ordered some sintra sheets on-line for Artoo...but don't remember from where....

and

where sintra comes in various thicknesses...
I am guessing that ABS would probably be the preferred plastic for this...

dunno...

trying to hook up sound for Chewy since I cant do the sound myself.

I got an Aker 20 amp (which I think is over kill now, could of went with a 12)

with help from Woulf, I was able to wire it up.. awesome! sounds great!
quote from Woulf on how to wire it.
Quote:

if thats a headphone jack, with a 1/8" plug, try putting the yellow to one of the speaker wires, and then the black AND red to the other. if thats what you have, the yellow is the case ground, and the black and red are your left and right. since you have 1 output, put them together and try it.

making a duct tape mannequin so I can set chewy up.
I need to see how he looks outside of costume so I can make adjustments.

going to stuff this with newspapers seal it up and slap one of those Styrofoam heads on top.

duct tape mannequin works great!

I need to stick a couple wood rods into the legs for strength, but working nicely

back to the drawing board..

upgrades are needed..

the stilts are giving nothing but problems. between the stilt bumps, difficulty walking, and a broken strap.. makes me want to try something else.. looking into the platform shoes.. not happy with how they look
I dont know.. maybe I'll keep working on my stilts.
possibley cutting the stilts down a inch or three might help with the walking.. not sure. really need to think about that before cutting Smile

need:
padding for shoulders
padding for thighs
more hair on arms and legs.
lighter bandolier. I need to get those ammo boxes a lot lighter

I thinking some hockey equipment might work for some of the padding

not sure on the ammo boxes ..

we are never really finished with a costume are we?

I look at all of my costumes as "works in progress"

thats true Smile

searching the forums... there is a new build that looks promising.
pretty much the same set up as me, just the padding goes much higher than mine. I might be on the right track, just need to made some adjustments. this pic is his. I might give this a shot.

trying to pad out the shoulders on chewy. I think it might work. only problem is I wont be able to get dressed as chewy by myself anymore. its too tight and will need help, but I think it is a good upgrade and I am happy with it. now to figure out the legs

this first pic is without the padding... as you can see I have no shoulders lol

here are pics with the padding.

the main problem is now the arms are a bit short... going to have to find a way to extend them.... I have an idea.. we'll see..
