first time taking it out in public...

overall I am very happy in the direction I am heading

stilts were a lot tougher to walk in with the mask on.. wasnt planning on that. it really changed everything, messed up my balance for some reason.. need lots more practice

head is not as bad as it was, but still needs work. I got to get some of that hair away from the face..

thinking of maybe trying to pad my shoulders, just a little bit, not much.. I think they should stick out a bit more

need to work on some padding for the legs.. I am going to try to add some to my thighs and see if that does anything.

the bandlier is way to heavy.. need to either hollow out the back of the boxes or looking to buy real metal ones.

and sound.. really need the sound.. trying to save up for an Aker amp.. I seen 16w and also seen a 20w.. not sure the difference yet.. but I know I want it loud. Its a wookiee, it has to be loud.

coming along Smile

I know we are all perfectionists and we always strive to do better......but for what it is worth, every kid that saw you that day loved Chewie. I heard many kids and parents who were tickled pink to see Chewie
in the flesh ( or fur).

You certainly did well to capture people's hearts and add a lot to the event.

I know that you have things you want to tweak...but honestly...and this is no bs...
that costume was stunning!!

I am sure that you will iron all else out in good time....at least it got its' first test drive and was a massive success....

I had to hollow out the back of my "chestbox" for the Y-Wing too...it was simply just too heavy to wear on a cloth flak vest...
even with taking this much out of the back...it is still heavy..

but it does work better....

the other thing I was thinking about was the feet...
do those feet you have flex at all? I didn't get a chance to see the feet close up...
How did Bob make his feet? His feet seem to flex so he can really walk naturally when wearing them..
I have a few ideas swirling around in my head....lol...

mine and bob's chewy feet are very different.
he said he is redoing his.
there is some flex in mine, and if you look closely at the toes, you can see that they are not even touching the ground.
I think with practice I will be ok

I do plan on hollowing out the ammo boxes. I would like to upgrade to metal ones. I hear they are a little pricey, but not sure.. going to look into them some more and see if it is something I could do..

If you can take a measurement of the boxes and put the dimensions here...maybe when I am out and about I will find something...

since some of the stuff I am finding is in metric...

that translates to:

Smaller one is: 8.9 cm x 4.4 cm x 3 cm

Larger is: 8.1 cm X 5.7 cm x 3cm

with .6 cm lip

was thinking in terms of something like this:

http://www.globalindustrial.com/g/electrical/boxes/Die-Cast-Aluminum/NEMA-Die-Cast-Aluminum-Box-AN-Series

but this place has pretty high "minimum pieces" orders..

Have you ever ordered anything from them? I am curious what they look like close up. They do look perfect! Which makes me suspicions Smile
