Well, since it doesn't look like I have the funds to build a complete Boushh costume for my wife, I'm going a different direction so I'm thinking about the handmaiden flamegown dress from Episode I. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience in sewing or anything like that LOL so I'm hoping to either get one commissioned or attempt one myself anyway. I noticed the update to the guidelines to get it "approved" but that's not really what I'm after. I'm just wanting a decent version for now for Fan Days next month so it doesn't have to be perfect. I just need some ideas on how to get one made or see if anyone has one they are looking to part with. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Well, having tried going the 'okay, this is an experiment so we'll keep it cheap' route I can tell you there's not really such a thing with this costume. Wink

You can go cheap fabrics, sure, but you'll still need to dye them. This costume is all about the dyeing and colorshifts.

The red parts of the costume are fairly simple and can be kept pretty low costs. The dress and tabard requires a lot more fabric and all that dyeing.
But if you're looking at simplified directions then: dress with flowing skirt and large, long, pointy sleeves. Bottom light yellow, top orange.
Tabard with hood. Colorshifts match dress.

You can try dyeing with colors that are mixed with warm water, or try spraying the pieces to the right color. Good luck.

I don't think there is such a thing as a "cheap" Padme costume! Laughing Be sure to check the standards if you're hoping for Rebel Legion approval. (Crushed panné velvet will not be approve-able.)
