Quick question, as I'm working on a Jedi outfit to go with when I'm running R2D2 at places like Children's Hospital and other places I decide to be a Jedi vs. the guy in the background..
I have a pair of Oakley Over the Top sunglasses (http://www.oakley.com/products/1238/2576)
that I painted brass colored and aged. Is this too off to be something a Jedi would have? I know there are pics of Luke with night vision goggles. Another Jedi from Tatooine (it's BRIGHT with two suns...) would make sense having protective eyewear. And what about glasses? What is acceptable as I can't wear contacts, but need glasses to see at a given distance?

Thanks!

Simple...take your glasses off when submitting a Jedi costume. But please understand, taking them off isn't "necessary", it is merely preferred by the LCJs.

As for trooping...if you need to wear glasses to see...wear them Wink

The glasses you pictured are rather unique. I don't know...not having seen them on you, but...I might recommend wearing the least obvious eye-wear you can. Those you have pictured would, obviously, stand out, lol

Thanks Roger. I'm kind of considering being more of a rogue Jedi... Thus those glasses, but really haven't decided yet.

Just don't go stray far from the Light Side, or I'll have to hunt you down and cut you in half Wink

I've seen these on a couple of people a few dragon-cons ago. One was a Sith and the other a Jedi. I liked them on the Sith more than on the Jedi but it worked for both.

These were popular with some sports figures (Ato Boldon), and artists like Flava Flav.

Photoshopping glasses off in pictures is sometimes do-able depending on the glasses and the angle of the face... I've done it, but it's a challenge!

Not to worry- I've always been a part of the good side of the Force..
Even starting a Jedi group at our church.
