Hello,

Does anybody know what the symbol on the techs hat actually looks like (i.e. better detail and/or image)?

Here is another screen cap. showing the same (again blurry) symbol...

I think it might simply be an orange Alliance starbird???

Here is another image of a "Rebel Fleet Controller" I found searching through Google. If that is the same symbol as shown on the Home One crew, then it isn't a starbird. So, what is it?

Yes, for sure. I am almost done with a "male" version of this character. Now the question I still have is (and have talked to several other RLers) is this an Officer or Trooper?

Confused

I agree Schph. I would say they are either NCOs (NonComs) or maybe Warrant Officers. You see them alongside of Rebel Techs/Groundcrew in the hangar, so I think they clearly have a different, and more authoritative? role.

Yes I agree...I need to get this book ASAP. I have taken about 30 screenshots from the BlueRay and none of them are very clear...ever. There is another thread somewhere that has one good pic that I have been working with though.

Schph, I think we finally do have the answer. Thank you! I will have to say with my Naval background, I would say that they play a different role than the grey jumpsuit techs (White helmets). Coveralls were/are worn when your working uniform might become very dirty or damaged and CPOs (chief petty officers) would were distinctively different uniforms than other enlisted sailors, so I would surmise that these "Techs" are senior enlisted crewers.

Todd I agree with you completely.

With this wonderful revelation of this costume, it might be time to test the waters for a Tech Detachment: Yavin (ANH), Hoth (ESB), Home One (ROTJ). Though, I would argue that in Star Wars there is only one costume. Empire has two (hanger and deck officer.) Return has two also, War room and hanger (Yavin variant.)

Where I agree with you on the fact that I would love a Tech Detachment ...

the truth of the matter is we have nowhere near enough actual Tech costumes to make that a reality..
I believe you need 20 of the costumes...
and...
we have only 4 (I think) Yavin Tech costumes (2 of them are mine)
and
only one Hoth Tech...which is also mine...

So basically...we have only 3 techs..

Crying or Very sad
