Thanks everyone! Have to give credit where credit is due.
If you want an incredible mask or custom prop, armor, etc. definitely hit up Ryan (Zaxmon) and Jason (Torment). They are both on top of their game. I can't wait to get this project completed. It's going to be a blast to troop as Tarfful. - Not that I don't love latch hooking... OK... I don't love latch hooking. It's absolutely amazing how long you can do this and how little you can have done. I just spent another 6 hours latch hooking today and still didn't finish a single sleeve (the last bit I have left to do on my top.)

Bolted a pair of old Nike trainers/tennis shoes to my stilts this weekend. Should make getting around in those a bit easier as well.

Finished latch hooking the top, so this week or weekend, I should be able to get the under armor with padding and mesh shirt on with hair, to get a proper measurement, so I can cut the leather and put together the armor on the Tarfful belt.

The mannequin is leaning a bit. The weight of the top + countless hours of me pulling and pulling as I put in the hair, has caused it to be a bit wonky. He'll straighten up again, once I take everything off and set his feet right.

Smile Couldn't even imagine what the cops would do if they walked in and saw that...

Depends on your area I guess. I get nervous in some parts of Wisconsin... too many hunters who have not seen Star Wars!

No worries. There's a fierce (color matching) 6 lb. min pin running around the house that will defend the wookiee!

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Thanks Tim!

One quick update:
I found that the weight of the hair on the top made the neck stretch out pretty good, so I needed to add a few more inches of mesh around the neckline. That's been sewed on, and I have latch hooked that as well.

Next up: Measuring and cutting the leather and starting on the pants, feet, legs, etc...

The top is completely finished - although a bit of trimming and thinning is to follow.

Started working on the belt. I am using pop rivets to attach the shoulder straps to the front straps and industrial Velcro to attach everything else at this point. The strips of leather I bought ended up being perfect. With all of the hair on this top, the 57" leather strip going around my waist works perfectly (when Tarfful is wearing it).
I hope to work on cutting the holes using a leather punch kit and a chisel to make 1/2" straight cuts for the belt loops to go next to the ammo boxes, which will hold the 1" center straps in place that go around the ammo boxes, tonight and this week. I've attached the boxes around the waist and the ones on the front and back here, but I have not added the ones on the shoulder straps yet.

Thank you very much!
he he he
In my best wookiee yell, I was saying, "I'm a huge hairy wookiee and I have tiny little human legs... Who stole my bottom half?"
