Thanks, I'll have to check them out, but if the US boots pass then I will use them and save myself some money. If not then I shall have to buy these boots. They do look nice

I'll let an active LCJ cover that one, if those other boots will work. That said, I would highly encourage that you get the Zahal boots when you can. It is one of those small details that (IMHO) makes a big difference in cranking up your costume to eleven.

The rest of the costume looks like a good start. Smile I'd recommend a bit more of the brighter green, and to weather the gaiters, but those are minor things. If you can match the parka camo to the pants, or a bit closer, that would help as well.

'Tis a good start, and I love seeing new ERTs take shape. Keep it up!

Yeah trying to get the proper match proved harder then I thought since the colors of the Parka and pants were not exact. And how would you recommend I weather the gaiters?

Take them hiking. In a very muddy place. Cool I have also used dirty, used motor oil and some spray paint.

www.ebay.com/itm/Israeli-Palladium-Scout-Military-Commando-Boots-Beige-Size-EU45-US11-/290752926208?pt=US_Men_s_Shoes&hash=item43b2399200

something like these could work too...shaves 10 bucks off my order since shipping with that other site is 20 dollars.

A heavyweight interfacing applied to the back of your gaiters might help the sag in them...

when making mine (and for several other Commandos) I used two layers of fabric with interfacing and batting in between..
they keep their shape really nice..

I made all the gaiters for the Rangers in the same manner

Restrain yourself when adding the bright greens on the camo, there is a real thin line between "looks like the film" and "construction worker safety jacket" Laughing

Kind of a guideline I use: When I think I'm about halfway done spraying a color - STOP.

Also direct from Palladium:

http://www.palladiumboots.com/shop/men/pampa-hi-5535.html

Last pair I needed in a hurry (for CVI), ordered from Zahal with express shipping and got them in 3 days. Zahal also had the size I needed, while the Palladium site didn't. So check the total costs + size you nedd + when do you need them.

The desert combats are close, but one of the distinctive visual features of the screen used boots is the welt/sole material coming up over the toe.

The sole is correct but the color is too dark compared to the link posted below, we should all look uniformed and I have purchased several boots like this on ebay. The only problem with this is the shoe it'self is darker in color than the original scout boots which are a lot lighter. That we can get away with as most of the boot is covered. I recommend the lighter colored sole since thier out there.

Yup, thy have the lighter colored boot overall, I'd recommend this color than the eBay colored boot. I have seen the darker boot in person and the lighter one looks more screen accurate.
