Hey folks!

This will be my WIP thread for my Endor Trooper build. So far, I've ordered the vest and cap from Stephanie (Mountain Base), Endor rifle resin pieces from Darth Hair (MB again), bandolier greeblies from Phyllis, and spats from Granny-Wan. I've found other items off of eBay: airsoft rifle for the Endor blaster, first aid/compass pouches, ammo pouches, and an aluminum frame for the hard backpack.

For the hard two-piece pack, I'll be making the boxes from a sheet of pink instillation foam cut down to the proper size, then glued together. Greeblies and other accessories will be worked-on later.

I'll keep that in mind, Greg Smile

I decided to go with wall insulation to make the base of the two boxes for the backpack. As I make progress on the pack, I'll take images to document it for future reference. With any luck, it will turn out Smile

And two sets of Vietnam-era pouches for the belt.

Backpack is starting to take shape. I'll need to round-off the corners and sand down the sides to they're even.

Boxes measure 8" tall, 14" across/wide, and 6" deep.

And grenades! Lots of 'em!

obviously...
I will be watching closely...

Laughing

Never thought of using the pink foam stuff for the backpack boxes...good idea!!

I ran around for months with a measuring tape in my pocket looking at all kinds of plastic boxes and came up with the ones below...but...they did present some problems with installation...
but..
what is a costume project without problems?

The Hoth Pack vs the Endor Pack
(each one a bit of a journey to the dark side... Smile

You can see a bunch of other random Endor project photos here:

Very nice, Phyllis! What did you use for the four-box-gribblie on the top box? It almost looks like the teeth to a face (the two pipe fittings acting as eyeballs).

I'm so jealous of those ammo pouches. They are the ones you see the most in the movies and have not been able to find any of them over here.

I have not been able to find any good picture of the back of the hard pack. All have been too small, or too black, or from the wrong angle. I think that your boxes look a bit large, but on the other hand, it would be better to scale them to the backpack frame than have boxes that look like they are too small.

Jason...you should have told me you were building the hardpack as I have all the parts for it, except for the boxes. The ones in the CVI booth are mine. My build thread.

Phyllis can this be place in the tutorial thread?

according to Studio Creations (that did some pretty exhaustive research on this costume):

The fan research community thinks each box is approximately:
12 inches wide
8.0 inches tall
4.5 inches deep.

the measurements of my plastic boxes is:

12"x 8.5" x 3 3/4"

so...
that is about as close as I could get using plastic storage boxes....

I bumped that thread..
and
your tutorial can be found at the Endor Bunker Yahoo Group:

http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/0FROUNOtoZCcRi0eMepu-OUghxwS6YPO1VF2hm8Trn8QGJWo37rgksJG8cPXu-aPRLedR6Uu5SNyhpZAWg6SkA/ENDOR%20HARD%20PACK1.pdf

Angelo...

you could add your tutorial from the bumped thread to the Trooper Tutorials forum also...

Yeah, I knew you add it at the yahoo group, I did not want to add it to the tutorial, if I was not supposed to. Didn't want to go over any heads.
