I think they're actually leather. Which makes me sad, but I'm not giving the leather companies money so I'm allowed to have them. I was really hoping to go completely cruelty free though. Oh well. Free is free.

hmm ok then I don't know what to say about that. Use them for now contact a RL costume judge to see if you can use them if you can use them for now till you can get ones you like and that are leather free.

Oh! Found a tutorial on painting leather with acrylic paint. I might have to experiment with this.

I could do that to all kinds of things!

My opinion on the food capsules is that they aren't accurate enough, but that's not to say they wouldn't pass for approval. [I'm OCD about some things haha] But it's definitely looking good! The color combination is an effective one [and we have discussed my attitudes towards black boots and belt...so that's saying something Laughing ] would that friend happen to be Nick? Hahaha. And is that the saber you'll be using?

Yeah I already have food capsules that are more accurate and not paint chipping everywhere haha. And yeah it's Nick. I don't know if I'll use that saber. I have a few I've been working on already, but I guess it'll depend on what everything looks like when I get it.

Well it looks good so far, and props to you for going veg with the costume, it's certainly not easy but in the end it's rewarding to have stuck by your beliefs. [try doing a Tusken without leather...gah.]

I wore my boots walking around NYC all day yesterday. Feet didn't hurt and no blisters. I give them my stamp of approval.

I have a pair of black riding boots I wore for several days at Philly. I swear, my feet still have scars from the blisters. It was awful.

I should probably get some insoles for these new ones. Would make them even better I bet. I wear them to work a lot too.

I finally finished! Ignore the skirt. I wore it to work yesterday and didn't feel like going upstairs to find the correct pants. Embarassed

Sarah, I should be able to start yours this weekend. Carly's home so I don't know if the plans will change, but hopefully I can at least start cutting stuff out.

Don't mind my complete dorkiness. Cool

The saber needs work and the belt's not right, but you get the idea. Brown pouches/black belt...opinions? I know it doesn't specifically say no in the CRL's, but what do you all think?
