I've seen the recent posts that indicate that Old Ben's tunic did not have any shoulder seams. Have the standards been changed to reflect this or would seams still be approvable? I have been searching for new costume ideas and ran across two pieces of fabric that were perfect except for their size (36x84)

In my obsession for a screen accurate Ben Kenobi costume I pointed out that from what I see in the Blue Ray pics there aren't seams at the shoulder. I am not a costume judge. Having said all that I wouldn't think putting seams at the shoulders in and of itself would be a deal breaker for getting an approved costume . Most of the time you can't see the shoulders due to the outer robe, and there aren't going to be many that would troop without a robe.

Other things like robe length, sleeve width, tabard length, obvious seam width on the visible parts might need to be adjusted before approval. Hopefully one of the Jedi judges will provide you an answer to your questions.

Good luck!!

Paul

Thanks! I've started a WIP thread. I was very limited by the panel size. They were only 36x84.
