While trooping my VERY NEARLY COMPLETE [ only needs a bill an a ribbed top Mr. Green ] Endor trooper this weekend at a con, I showed a friend how I had stuffed my pack with shopping bags to give it the "stuffed to the brim" appearance they seem to have in RotJ. He's the type to go all-in on a costume, the type who can't make a TK without binders or a Death Star Gunner without at least three different variations of armor. He had an interesting idea, and I was wondering if anyone has tried it: stuffing the pack with trooping essentials, as well as fun SW props to show excited kids.

Some things I was thinking about putting in my pack...
-Canteen/thermos with a fabric cover painted in Endor style with a Rebel emblem on it [would be useful for long troops, and would enable me to hydrate without taking a break while staying in character]
-Stuffed Ewok [photo ops!]
-small hard box with snacks in it similar to what Yoda steals from Luke [serves a function like the canteen]
-Pilot signal flares [just fun to have, seems like something they'd carry]
-Lantern like Yoda fights R2 for [I always thought Luke's gear was standard Rebel issue, and there's a tutorial for this obscure little prop on the BBC forum]
-Droid caller, hydrospanner, fusion cutter...random tool props
-Military sewing kit, other trooping essentials

I feel like this is something that'd add depth and character to the costume...has anyone else done anything like it?

Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a screen.

(Seems we all seen it: and this guy sounds familiar, somehow)

Si, Grazie!!!!

It has been a long time since I´ve seen this movie, but "the list" still was somewhere up there in the black darkness...

But we really got off-topic now, I think Confused

lol...very good lists all...

well..
to be honest..
mostly I wear my hardpack...so no stuffing is necessary...

and...
when I do wear my soft pack...

I more or less leave it empty to leave room for everyone else's stuff....lol...
like personal possessions of all the Imperial costumers that I troop with that have no pockets...
or...someone's jacket that they forgot to remove at the start of the parade...

and..
I used to leave it empty so I could use it for things that I might buy at a Con....

Wink

It's still a project to work on.

As a practical matter, I do what Phyllis does. However, since I've been working on my own Endor Commando setup, I have the same thoughts that Ryan started this thread with.

I'm a semi-regular camper, so my thoughts naturally turned to what would the Rebel commandos have in the pack that might be interesting to pull out and show folks at an event. I've seen this done at civil war reenactments; wouldn't it be cool to pull out 'real' rebel survival gear to show kids when they ask what's in your pack!

I'd start with a SW version of the list Matt posted. Although perhaps without the prophylactics and stockings (considering that the only natives on Endor were the Ewoks).

Also- I really like the stuffed ewok and the rebel recruitment posters ideas!

I too have the soft pack, so I'm planning on a similar list of SW and practical things to fill it. I hadn't considered the equipment Luke had on Dagoba, but that's a great idea!
