I saw on a thread here that some people have purchased riding breeches for use as ROTJ Luke pants. They look just like Luke's pants, with a couple exceptions. First the knee pads would have to be removed (pretty easy) and second most of the breeches I have found online have small, slanted front pockets and back flap pockets. Would it be acceptable to sew the pockets shut on the front and remove the flap and show the pocket shut on the back? I have found some breeches where the front pockets are high on the pants and, once sewn shut, would most likely be hidden by the weapon belt. Any opinions and costume judge thoughts? Thanks.

Have you a picture James? Smile The only problem I could see with that is the pockets might still be visible and you might be left with stitching holes visible when you removed the knee pads Smile

I was looking at something like these:

http://www.doversaddlery.com/men%27s-devon-aire%C2%AE-cool-cotton-riding-breeches/p/X1-3512/

These are an example of riding breeches that have a slit front pocket on the sides and these particular pants actually have no back pocket. They look pretty close.

They do look close, but I'm not sure how they'll look when the knee grips are removed. Hopefully some of our Luke costumers will chime in with some info on where they got their trousers from Smile

The patch is just sewn on and would only leave small thread holes that should steam out. I think someone on here has done that before, but I would like to hear other opinions. What about the side/front pockets? Sew them closed?

Personally I don't think the side pockets should be there & therefor not accurate enough.
