John Jackson Miller has requested an appearance via the WI Garrison forums for the main launch event for his new book.

Star Wars: Lost Tribe Of The Sith: The Collected Stories signing
Event Date: Saturday, July 28, 2012 3:00 PM

West Towne Mall
7433 Mineral Point Road
Madison, WI 53717
608-827-0809

Mr. Miller said these events usually run about 90 minutes - typically he gives a short talk and then does signing and photos.

I will be speaking with the store's event coordinator tomorrow (Thursday) and will get more specific information.

Update 7/12/12:

We are confirmed with Barnes & Noble for this event!

Arrival time: 2:00, be ready to go at 3:00

Changing room: The store will be providing a secure changing room for us to use and store our totes.

Where to go upon arrival: You can enter the store through the main entrance and ask for Jeanne at the Customer Service desk. I typically don't need as long to suit up as the armored folks, so I will also plan on watching for you up front as you arrive.

What we will do: If Mr. Miller has any special requests, we will be happy to accommodate them Smile In general, we can provide ambiance while Mr. Miller speaks and then be available for photos while he signs.

I have also posted this event on the Rebel boards.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Attending:
Sara (Mara Jade)
Phil (Luke or Clone)
Zach (Biker Scout)
Sara (X-Wing Pilot)
Dolvan Viengo (Jedi)

I figured Cyphan will be occupying most of the IL members that weekend, which is why I didn't post it on the MWG board. The store seems to be happy to have any number so I'm not worried if we don't get a large turnout.

Have fun at Cyphan, and hopefully I'll see you at Wizard in August.

Let me see where I'm at when we get a little closer, I can't afford Cyphan but I might be able to get some people to caravan. Anybody else available?

I work all weekend. Sad I had no intention of going to Cyphan either. If I was off, I would have gone with you. I work 11-8 though.

dunno...
I really had not intended to go to Cyphan either...
my friend is coming in from Seattle on 7-27 too...
so...
up in the air..

the book sounds interesting...
I am wondering if the current series "Fate of the Jedi" which just concluded inspired the whole lost tribe thing..

Its actually a series of free tie-in ebooks that tell the history of the lost tribe of the sith from the FOTJ books. So yeah you can say they're inspired by I guess. Word from Comic-Con is that they're going to do a comic series now too.

Yep, the series has been ongoing for a few years. You can download all of the stories for free via pdf or Kindle. This new book is a collection of all the stories plus I believe there is a new one included too. It was a nice companion to FOTJ.

I am kinda/sorta enjoying FOTJ...though there is a LOT of the political stuff...
made my way through all the books...but can't find the last one
Apocalypse....so I had to order it from Amazon...
so...
now I am sitting on the edge of my seat to see how the story ends...
lol...

I really do enjoy the character Vestara Khan....
I feel that they are going to do a lot with her in upcoming books....kinda like Mara Jade...

With no television anymore...I do find myself reading much more than I ever did..

Very Happy

You're not missing much on tv these days. We could get rid of every channel except PBS, HBO, and BBC America.

I haven't been reading much SW lately since I have zero interest in Clone Wars or Old Republic stuff, but I'll give Allston's new X-Wing book a shot next month. There was actually a fun Jaina short story in the Insider last month. That's the first issue I have bought in years lol.

I can't wait for Mercy Kill. The Wraiths are my absolute favorite books in all of Star Wars.

Anyways, I'm not going to be able to make it. That day is the only day Jill's going to have free so we can move out of our storage unit before we have to pay for another month.

Bummer.
