They are decent boots I have the same pair. However get Gel pads for the souls because they have next to none. When we were at Comic con my feet were killing me! Costume looks good so fare cant wait to see the rest. Glad to have another PA Jedi soon to be in Echo.

Thanks Jarred!
Any suggestions on the decorative new republic brooch of Kyp's Cape and the belt/shoulder strap combo?

The pins on the market are all too small [this brooch looks to be at LEAST 2", probably closer to 3", 4 would look a little too big in real life.] and the buckles are all heavy and rather expensive, plus they lack the outer ring.

I don't know much about sculpting or resin casting, but maybe someone who does can lend some advice? I have resin parts for my ERT bandolier, and they're very lightweight and accurate. Not the most durable, of course, but we can secure the clasp very well with a few pins.

I'd be interested in helping you sculpt it and cast it if anyone can lend us some tips, since that's a skill I'd like to learn professionally as well as for costuming.

there's always youtube. we could try it, i like the sound of it. I'd hate for this part of the costume to be the hardest part, but maybe it won't be so bad! A buckle might be heavy, but from my Batman buckle it doesn't seem like it would drag down the cape, it would just hang there while pins keep the cape together... many pins... But i won't argue with you master xD

This probably will be the hardest part, though, haha. It's something completely unique. You seem to be the Legion's first Kyp [unless I'm missing something] so it's not something we'll be able to find. You did mention earlier you could maybe talk to a metalworker friend...I recommend that for now, though something more lightweight like resin is probably a better idea.

turns out my very good friend is going to craft the brooch! So we have that settled.
He is going to craft the Rebel symbol, put it on a black plate, and then put the outer ring on the plate as well. then we'll figure out how to make it an actual brooch.

You could use magnets. Alot of PD use small magnents to hold there name plates on there uniform. They make small ones that one side will put the magnet on the inside of ur cape/shirt and it will hold ur brooch.

Excellent idea! Rare earth magnets, like what are used to hold on the RL name badges, are certainly strong enough. But you tell me he'll me making it out of stainless steel...how exactly will he go about this, and do other members feel it'll be too heavy?

It looks fairly small so I think they would hold it. One time
I put a little car ornimnet on my car hood with these magnents then drove 60mph on a highway and it stayed. So I think they would hold broach.

I like the magnet idea, would it be able to hold the brooch that is made of stainless steel? I'm trying to get an exact estimate as to how heavy it will be.
