Probably, more than any other Star Wars character, I've wanted to make
this costume for years. When I was a boy, my best friend and I would don
our camo fatigues and Laser Tag gear and play RotJ in the forests of NorCal.
So far, I've only picked up a few bits & pieces, but it's a start.

I picked up one of the Czech two pocket backpacks. Still need to do more
research on the hose and other greeblies that it needs.

I also got a good deal on an AN-H-15 flight helmet. Unfortunately, it's a size Medium;
my melon is not. I think if I add a strip down the middle, under the ribbed top, it'll fit well.

My most recent score is a Single Point sight. It's not the correct model for
a DH-17 Blaster Pistol, but it will work great on my A280 Blaster Rifle build,
as the front portion will be covered anyway.

I'm on the list for one of Droidwelder's donuts and I've sourced most
of the other materials and items I'll need. Slowly, but surely...

Looks very nice so far, especially the AN/H-15 seems to be be in a quite good condition! Be careful when modifying it...

Good luck for your project! Thumbs up

Thanks! I may just hold out for a Large or XLarge and keep this one the way it is. It almost fits my 4y/o son, and the Rebellion can always use fresh recruits. Wink

Since you will be covering the very top with the ribbed piece...you could add a piece to make it larger...but ...
as noted...
be careful with it...
I had made an ANH from "scratch" and it doesn't take much at all to throw things off...

The waiting paid off: I just nabbed one in size Large! The Medium is going to stay as it is. Very Happy

I know there have been some recent questions about the ear caps, so here are some detailed photos...

Has anyone tried Palladium brand boots for an ERT? I'm wondering how they fit in relation to standard sizing: large, small, wide, narrow, etc...

Wow, THAT ANH-15 is simply...a perfect find!
I´d love to have a second one, but in Europe it´s quite hard to get them (for an affordable price!).

Same as sold by zahal.org - but $10 cheaper if you buy from them.

Sure enough! Thanks, Mac! For some strange reason, I thought the Israeli commando boots were from a different company. How does the sizing run compared to most footwear?

I didn't make the connection until I saw the link you posted and then went to check the Zahal pricing. As always, don't forget to factor in shipping and then compare the final costs.

My pair are marked as 44 (cm) and I wear size 10 US GI combat boots or low-quarters, so the "Size 10" is probably a real size 10 (govt. specification contract).
T-Shirt, cotton pants, and sneakers. Too bad the ERT isn't as recognizable as it is comofrtable to wear! endor trooper

No doubt! I think it's the helmet that makes the outfit, but only real Star Wars fans are likely to recognize it. It's still one of my favorites, though!

Zahal want $23.50 for the shipping alone, so I looked around and found a good price on eBay - $38+$12S&H:

They're on their way. endor trooper

Concerning blasters... I'm familiar with the formal requirements, and I have plans to build an Endor Rifle (A280 Blaster Rifle), but what about informal? How far can I push it? I have a Sterling Type II Carbine that I've been wanting to build into an E-11 variant (about 5.5"-6" longer than the standard Type I model). I've even considered making it look like a long blaster rifle variant of the DH-17. So, what can I get away with? Wink

Because, at this time, you have no formal costume....your first costume will have to be a formal one...
which means the blasters on the list...
but..
always remember...
after you are approved as formal with a "formal" blaster...
when you go to an informal event or con...
you can carry whatever you like...

Thanks, Phyllis! It will probably take me longer to build my blaster rifle than the rest of the costume, but that's still good news.

About the vests... Is there anyone that custom makes them for sale? Until I resolve the tension issues with my own sewing machine, I'd rather not attempt making one myself.

With two cans of spray paint (black and aluminium or silver) and a few minutes with some maksing tape, you can do a fair job of making the Hasbro "Rebel Trooper Blaster" look a lot more like a DH-17
