I would like to make something we can have for us to play when we are in our pilot costumes. In a way what the 501st does for their radio traffic.

I've got a few I recorded for a project I've been working on, so if you'd like, I could probably record a few lines. I could probably give a few of the ones I have as well, though a lot of them are directed towards other characters that appear in the project.

If you have a copy of the X-Wing Alliance or X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter computer games, they have pilot chatter sound bytes that can be strung together dynamically to create some kind of a story.

"This is two"
"I'm beginning my attack run"
"I need a little help over here"

etc.

This sounds good, I was just wondering how you intend to incorporate the sounds into the suit? how will they be triggered etc.

This is a neat idea Cool
A small mp3 player in one pocket and a speaker in the other might work.

This is what I use for sound effects with my outfits. It's been fun. Laughing

A mp3 player and speak could fit behind the chest box. Anyone have the sound file?

I have an mp3 player and a small double speaker box which sits nice in my pocket. I looped a heap of mp3s together from the movies and then copied them multiple times so the chatter lasts about 5 hrs on loops!

I just picked up the mp3s online from a movie sounds website.

I just upgraded this recently too to use headphones which fit in my lid which will play the chatter though, which sounds realistic, but havent trooped with it yet. A friend of mine had it kitted up though recently like this and it was awesome with sounds coming from the lid.

The tks were jealous.... Wink

I'll send you everything that I have Alex for sure.

I hope that this can become a professional sounding pilot chatter that others could use in the long run if it is put together well, much like the 501st have a library of chatter sounds for the various costumes members have.

cheers

BTW - these are the mini headphones that I have for placement in my lid

Really a great idea...I also have no skills relative to this sort of thing. However, at any point if cost becomes an issue..than I'm more than happy to ante up some funds to help out.

I helped someone with a similar project once. You'd be surprised what a simple audio recorder and a pair of cheap walkie-talkies can do.

Are you scripting anything out? Looking for random chatter? Routine transmissions? Combat traffic?

WW2 films are excellent inspirational sources for air combat traffic.
