I was wondering if there is anyone out there who would be willing/able to share the embroidery "pattern" for Leia's Bespin gown with me? I am in the gathering materials phase at the moment.
THANK YOU!! _________________ Alpha Base - XO 2011-2012, CO 2012-2015

Everything my wife (Beret) did on her gown was based on photos she took as well as Maggies.
Here is Berets Bespin Gown Picks. They are not 100% (what is...) but it may help you in creating a pattern.
I do remember that Beret spent many weeks with scanning percentages to increase the heigh and sizes to get the pattern to work in the same scope as it did for the movie (Berets 5 foot 9)... was a real pain. However I do know she lost the pattern she drafted when her computer crashed a few years ago.
So all we really have to go on is pictures... wish I could be more help.

Yikes! I can't imagine spending all that time getting the design right to ruin it with puffy paint!
Yeah, Maggie is the best person to contact. _________________ ~Mieal |

I've got a general question about the embroidery for this costume: is it best to do it by hand or by machine? I'm not planning on doing this costume any time soon, I think I will when I am more experienced in costuming. |

I've seen it done by hand and machine and both looked ok.
That being said, I personally think it looks better by hand, but that's my personal opinion. |
