I started on this a couple months ago..
then got sidetracked...
am back on it...
well...lol..
for a while anyway.

I started with this pattern because of the overall shape..
using view B

I purchased a tan 97% cotton and 3 % spandex twill fabric and a dark brown twill fabric.

I taped pattern piece #4 and #5 together before cutting tan fabric to remove a seam detail.

Used the front piece #2 as the yoke of dark brown and for the back piece, I measured the front yoke length and made a pattern piece for the back the same length as the front yoke...cut the bottom that much shorter (adding seam allowance) and added seam allowance to the top yoke of the back....

Used just some plain fabric, batting, and the dark chocolate brown twill and started quilting that upper portion...

I did the same thing for the back pattern piece...making sure that the dark brown fabric was the same height front and back...below mid sleeve.

next I sewed the upper and lower back pieces together...

Before I could sew the upper and lower front pieces, I wanted to incorporate the pocket flaps...
so I had to make those next...
also adding in the tabs for the tab closures.

With the pocket flap/tabs made and the red trim put on, I was then able to sew the front yoke and bottom pieces together....sewing in those pocket flaps as I sewed the yoke and bottom front pieces...

so...

for right now..
it looks like this
