Hi all,

In preparation for my X-Wing outfit, I found a seller named "hammerheart44" on eBay who sells the orange flightsuit and flak vest for $95 shipped. Has anyone heard of or dealt with him? If not, does the picture reveal any obvious flaws? eBay is blocked here at work, so I can't send the direct link, but the full listing title is "X-Wing Rebel Fighter Pilot Orange Jumpsuit + White Flak Vest Star Wars Costume"

All help is GREATLY appreciated!

Looks exactly like the costumebase to me. That's fishy all on its own.

Coveralls are marginal - cannot see front seams.

Vest is not even worth attempting to salvage.

Compare that to this:

hammerheart44 is costumebase, something weird with all of that. And no the vest is not even worth your time to try to salvage it. the front might be able to if you wanted to seam ripper the whole thing and resew it but at that point just buy the fabric and do it yourself. The flightsuit is work about, it fits the needed requirements but i don't think it would win in the "my pilot is more accurate than your's" game.

Great info all, thank you. I've seen several chest boxes here on the forums, might go with one of them. Recommendations for the flight suit???

I think unless you find something else, Moncal does a really good one for 90. I actually got a hold of a costumebase for the cheap and it's not too bad. But that price you found is more than Moncal, so....

A few years ago, Costumebase used to have auctions "Buy now ... or best offer" and you could usually bargain to get them for around $60. Many people got it for a lot less.

The suits are known to have weird dimensions and several details are a bit off. For instance, mine was too long in the sleeves but too short in the torso.
The suit was a good deal back then when the only other option was to buy two coveralls and spend many hours with the sewing machine. The situation is different now.

Great info, all. I've contacted MonCal about a flightsuit, and darthhair about a helmet kit.

I've seen two chest boxes here on the forums, and would appreciate any insight you have.

For all of the metal stuff, I've seen this from Elvis Trooper. Anyone with experience there?

Thanks again, so much.

They're both excellent boxes. I prefer the ones from the first link because you can get the more customized configurations which are especially great if you're doing a face character.

Elvistrooper's stuff is top notch.

Thanks, James. Looks like I won't need his "X - Chest Box Knob" as the box from TC-9285 includes it. What about the "X - Belt Flares"? How many are needed? Whereas his other items come in sets, they are individual.

That's up to you. The belt should have space for six on each side, but you don't have to fill all 12. Its screen accurate to have some spaces so that's up to you.

For example:
