There is the new comic, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, that shows jedi who are mandalorians. Issues one and two show them off more. They are not born as mandalorian, rather they become prisoners, and in this comic series mandalorians give their prisoners the option to become mandalorians and fight with them, or become slaves or die. These jedi became mandalorians.

but they are not still in the Jedi order when they become mandalorians? Correct? I believe that is the biggest point of contention in this thread is that there have been Jedi who BECAME mandalorian AFTER leaving the Jedi order for some reason. Im getting the feeling that there have not been any native mandalorians, that became Jedi, and still maintained their mando roots. I was really hoping to find one who did...

You probably won't find it. The reference to mandos breeding out force sensitivity can be found in the table top game guides (an LFL source). A character that does comes to mind is Venku (Kad) Skirata, however he was never trained as a jedi, he was just force sensitive, as he was the son of Etain Tur-Murkan, a jedi, and Darman, a clone who was trained as a mando. He also has no visual reference.

There are other cultures in the Star Wars universe that you could incorporate into being a Jedi without going against the mythos. There are Kiffar, which would allow you to add really cool tattoos to your costume. That was just one example.

Just thought I would revisit this topic, and wonder what all the people that said you cant have "mash up" costumes are going to say now that Obi Wan has worn Mando armor in TCW, even though he was never a true mandalorian. Would that be ok? Formal or Informal? If it would be considered informal, then is Obi Wan in Trooper armor considered Informal, too. I wonder, hmmmmmmm?

sorry about that guys, I didnt see the Obi Wan thread. Jason, if you want you can delete this thread altogether, it seems to cause a lot of friction, and that is not my intent. I apologize

No need to delete it. Just no need to create a second thread related to the Obi-wan question Wink
