So, pattern! I'm the one who's passing a hand-made pattern around. You may have to alter it if you aren't the same size as me, but it is a good place to start.

I plan to take my pattern to a local office store tomorrow to get it scanned and then I'll be able to post it online for download for anyone who wants it.

Jenna that would be brillliant if I could have a copy i am pretty sure I will have to alter the size as you look alot smaller than me LOL!
I have contacted Clothears here in the UK who do custom costumes so hopefully they will be able to help me as I am not to great with sewing Sad

If you are seriously considering having someone make the costume for you, I have made this costume before and would be happy to make it again.

My 2 cents on this costume:

- Use nicer fabric. I know velveteen is cheaper, but seriously, go all the way and use silk velvet if you can afford it. The cheaper the velvet, the cheaper the costume looks as a whole.

- You don't have to use an invisible zipper on the pants. As we've discovered, they're not very fun. Shocked

- The original costume had the pants held up by some sort of mesh suspenders. I have to get some suspenders as well for mine, since the pants kept sliding down, and because of that, there's now some crush lines.

- Silk velvet on silk lining = awful to sew. While they look beautiful and feel heavenly, you will need to hand baste the ENTIRE THING first before you sew.

Like Bob linked, Jenna and I just made these, so let us know whatever questions you have!!

I just went to Staples today and they didn't have a big enough scanner for my pattern, so I will try again at someplace else soon. I'll link it in this thread as soon as I get it together.

Well my boots have now arrived yay! really pleased with them. Also my buckle arrived too, it has been hand made by Terry Cooper from the UKG and I think it looks brilliant.
