I've been reading the posting in the Fringe forum about a charity calendar, and an idea started percolating in my head, based on the realization that the NZ contingent of Star Wars fans is made up of unusually good looking people.....

Has there ever been a 'Hotties of Star Wars' pin up calendar? Cool

I'm sure between us we know some good makeup artists and photographers....its something that might get a bit of media attention and could go on sale at this years Armageddon if we get it done in time, all proceeds going to the charity of choice....

Thoughts, opinions, shoot me down in flames..... Evil or Very Mad

Why thank you for including me in this category of good looking people, but I don't agree on my looks. Razz

I'm sure the camera would shatter into a million pieces if I attempted to 'strike a pose'.

Still the idea has merit!

Hey, my name's Kristie and I'm technically not part of the Naboo outpost yet, but I am from Auckland, and happen to have been a wardrobe/make-up/props/set dressing major at film school, and know a bunch of photographers that I'm sure would love to help out if this goes ahead Smile And of course I'm keen too haha!

It's a great idea, would be pretty awesome I think Smile

PS: Sorry in advance for being a crazy stalker lurker who decided to butt in haha...

Cool, I guess the next question is who'd be keen to be involved?

Shocked

Oh hey Kristie Smile I had a quick look at your forum posts, if you are still working on those costumes I have some NZ specific help if you like Smile I just made the Fireside skirt and necklace recently and while not the same my Mara belt buckle is super thin aluminium on styrene to give it depth but have the brushed metal surface Smile I got the aluminium from Gordon Harris I think, the styrene from Modern Plastic.
*hand wave* you do want to make the Fireside Gown.

No really you do it is so super pretty and the necklace just sells it Smile )

As for sales etc, it will have to go through the proper channels here, so much trouble when there is money even for charity. But I'm pretty sure it would be easily approved, and there would also be a record of it in the archives Wink
If there is enough interest I'll get my Shaak Ti approved so I can go incognito Wink

Oh cool! Thanks Neimhaille! Smile

I'm actually making the Fireside gown, and still working on it - slowly. I need to remake my underskirt because unfortunately the one I made doesn't really have the train I would like, and I'd like to keep trying to find a overskirt fabric that was closer to the canon Smile But I will get there!!

When you say 'proper channels' do you mean the NZ club or internationally? Cause I was kind of thinking it would need to be a mixture of rebels and empire to make up the numbers.

Personally, I think it's totally possible to get enough sponsorship to cover a photoshoot and publishing, but I'm not keen to get mired in interclub bureaucracy Smile

Peter - Would you like me to check with the photographer I have in mind to see if she would charge for the photoshoot? I'm pretty sure she wouldn't - as long as she was credited for the photography. Or would you prefer to go through some photographers that you or other Naboo outpost-ers know? Smile

Cheers Kristy, but probably best to wait and see what kind of interest there might be first Smile
