Howdy!
I found a cool way to make some flares that go in the belt.

Tell me what you think!

They were super easy and inexpensive using parts I have on hand from the trophies I make for my martial arts school's tournaments.

The flares look pretty sharp. Better than my painted wooden dowels. Smile I need to upgrade them to metal at some point.

They do look good. Very shiny. So what exactly are they made out of and how could the rest of us obtain it to make our own?

They are parts used to make trophies - which means you have to have a wholesale license to make trophies to order the parts from the supplier.

I could probably put together sets of them (10 or so?) for around $5.00.

There are 2 problems with them.

1. They are a little to narrow to fit snugly in the loops - if the loops are standard sizes.
What I did is wrap some tape around the middle to make them fit tightly.
I haven't trooped with them yet so I'm not sure how well they will stay but them seem in there pretty good.

2. They are open on the top and bottom. Unlike the leg flares, it would be very difficult to tell that they are not capped because they are so small.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

These look nice. Ive been making them from 1/4" aluminum rodstock frim the hardware store, cut to lenght. Then i get crazy and pop rivet them in to the belt from the backside. Of the 8 belts ive made, one flare came loose due to a bad rivet.
