I was looking for a good place to get Jedi boots from. I know motorcowboy makes them and Ive also seen musem replicas making them. They both look really nice but im just not sure I want to lay $350-$400 on a pair of boots im only going to use for a costume every now and then...

My wife has some she got form ebay (generic jedi) boots that we got for like $30-40 bucks but i dont want to get somthing that cheap.

I was looking to get some decent boots maybe $100-$200 max and currious does everyone use just motorcowboy or the cheapies for their jedi's or is there somewhere to get them in between...

When it comes to men's jedi boots there isn't much in the good quality but low price range. There are three things you can do.

1. Save the money and get high quality boots that will last you a very long time.

2. You can spend the $40 on cheap boots and have to replace them every year.

3. You can search every shoe/boot/western/military surplus shop in a 100 mile radius and might find some equestrian boots that fit you and are around $150.

I'm personally stuck with option 2, for the budget friendliness. Hope this helps.

I like my Museum Replicas Obi-Wan Kenobi replica boots. They are pricey ($350 USD) but fit a wide calf because they're lace up with a shin panel. Con is that it's flat leather soles that get tore up on asphalt and concrete during marches and low traction. I plan on resoleing with treaded rubber later though. I have gotten the $40 ones that don't fit my calfs unless I buy the next size up, but they are affordable and the soles last longer.

I personally think that the boots are an investment, as they are THE hardest part of the costume to find.

Before I start, I'm female, so I suppose my boot finding difficulties are different than yours, but I'll throw my two cents in either way.

Right now the equestrian and motorcycle style is coming back in. Boots in general are becoming more popular, so this is a rather good time to be looking for them. Amazon always has a pretty amazing selection of shoes. If you're going to go for the lower range ones which might need to be replaced more often, try looking into Funtasma. There were a few pairs offered by them which would work.

Note that this time of year is great for sales too and maybe take a browse around some shoe stores. I found mine earlier this week for about 70% off when I was just wandering around the mall.

And, hopefully it's not an insult in any way to suggest this, but if your feet and calves are small enough, try looking for the larger sized womens boots. They tend to have a bigger selection in the right styles.

I've heard good things about these boots, the only issue is that you need insoles/gel inserts, because apparently they are lacking in the comfort department. I know of a few Jedi in the RL who use them, and I like the look of 'em especially for how much they cost.

I think the first consideration is what character are you portraying? If you are doing Anakin or Obi-Wan, then you don't have too many options. Your best bet is one of the nice boot makers who do those specific styles...but it will cost you...

otoh, if you are jusst doing a generic jedi, then you can go relatively cheap with a nice style that doesn't cost too much...

Absolutely, Drazhar!!!

JDOS makes the best possible boots for less money than Museum Replicas or MotorCowboy.

He offers a lot of options and the results are well worth the 4-6 week lead time.

I just received my Obi Wan Episode II - III boots from Jdos props and they are just PER-FECT !

Guys, I wouldn't recommend anyone else. I've seen the Museum Replicas and they are not close to match the quality of Jdos props boots !

If I can add something, they are cheaper too ! He can do anything, even unknown models if you send him refererences, descriptions...

He's a real professional and makes those boots completely at your size (you will have to communicate a all bunch of measures from feet to knee).

You'll have to be patient, though. Count from 4 to 6 months due to a long waiting list, but hey : they are worth every penny !

May I add that jdos is a full member of the Rebellegion.

Just check his facebook page where you'll see a lot of pictures :

I purchased the Museum Replicas Qui-Gon style boot several years ago and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the leather. The size wasn't right for me either, I ordered a men's 8 (the smallest they had) and since I wear a women's 9 they should have been just slightly big, but the shoe part was way too big and the calf was way too small! They are made for a tall thin man. I could zip them with effort, but fit pants in them, no way.
