My understanding is that it is not an Alice pack but a North Vietnamese army back pack. they looked very similar but only had 2 pockets? I recently purchased one from Vietnam and am waiting for it to be delivered so that I can check it out.

The very early ALICE packs had 2 pockets. Not long after they were introduced the style changed to a 3 pocket*main body design.
I git a vintage Polish or Czech pack from Ebay.

interesting find...let us know...

where I do have one of the Czech alice packs w/two pockets...
I decided to go for it and made the hardpack...I never use the alice pack anymore...

hi Pugs , welcome to the forums. this is not correct, the colors and texture are wrong.

the majority of us start out with tan/khaki BDU pants, and paint them. I find them pretty cheap on Ebay by searching Khaki BDU. The ACU is laid out very differently than the BDU.

I followed Mac Braggs painting system on mine and love how they came out. I have painted the others in my Base so we all match style, shading and color.

Tan is the base color for the pants, and a lot of it shows when the painting is done.
