Thanks for the clarifications. I was shopping around and seen so many variations it was a little confusing, so I hope that what I posted helps make it easier for others.

Quick question...what about removing the buckle at the top of the boot? It's kind of convenient for making the boot a little more snug, but figured it was worth mentioning.
I didn't want to automatically assume that since the ankle buckle was mentioned, and the calf one wasn't - that it's not automatically okay. _________________ Follow Dantooine Base on Facebook!

The buckle at the ankle is decorative...
but..
the buckle at the calf is actually functional...
so..it is not advised to remove the buckle up at the calf unless you have a way to secure the flap up there that the buckle holds in place. _________________

what are you still working on? |
The helmet does not have a swoop or blast shield yet...I also need to put pockets on the back of the vest...sigh...I have no sewing skills at all...I had a seamstress modify the shirt, so I will probably take the vest to her too soon. Submission coming soon I hope! _________________ Todd (Toda) - former RAID XO (2017-2019)

Are the back pockets on the vest now mandatory? They didn't used to be. _________________

no....they are not mandatory...
I put them into the visual guide for reference...
If you check the Costume Standard...the standards are the same....
we do have a standard revision thread going in the Costume Standards discussion area...but it is mainly standards clarification....not any real changes. _________________

MacRican et al., here is a good link for vest pocket references. I particularly like the false color image that clearly shows placement and size.

I hope this is o.k. to post. Mods, please feel free to delete if I'm not following the proper procedures I understand if it is conflict of interest or "spamming" in some way.
I've been offering all the versions of the fleet, honor guard, and tech helmets for about 5 years now.. as another option for folks to look into. I have a thread in the rebel troopers forum http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43802
Thanks. _________________
