Need help updating the FAQ section for Chewbacca and Wookiee.

Please help me help new recruits by taking some time and reading thru the FAQ... and post your questions you might want to see on the list. If you have links or info to help in answering the question please feel free to list that as well.
*** Chewbacca FAQ's***

and
***Han Solo FAQ's***

I am sure there is much we can add and update...

You can either reply to this thread or send me PM or email.

Thanks!

In the Chewie section, you need to update the broken 'collinscottage' link.

Here's one:

Do I have to make a face character from the movies? Can I make a Wookiee from the comics or a custom Wookiee?

Good question...

Do we have other links that are up to date to replace the Cottage grove link for the mesh?

Just a few updates I'd like to see for the Han FAQ.

Quote:
4. Will a Costumebase Han Solo pass as formal?
A. No… it will not. However, there are alterations you can make to the costume, and the holster can be altered to bring that costume up to a quality that is acceptable which can be found in this thread here: Costumebase alterations.

This is mainly in regards to the CostumeBase Holster modifications. From what I've seen of these rigs, even after heavy mods they still look cheap and not at all right. The buckles are the wrong shape, so they'd need replacing, you'd need a new belt disk and the stitching holes left behind from moving the pouch to the correct place do not look very attractive, and that's just to make it approvable. Then there's all the nit-picky stuff like the big semi-circle cutouts on the tool pouches instead of the slits.
Ending the rant (sorry :p) in short, maybe just edit the part out about the CostumeBase Holster just to avoid giving new members the wrong idea about it since after all the mods you might as well have invested in something better anyway.

5. Where do I go to get a blaster? How much do they cost?
A. Like many things Han Solo, one must ask what their abilities are… Can you make one, or are you willing to pay the hundreds of dollars for a good blaster? You can get a Master Replicas blaster on Ebay and pay anywhere from 350-700$ for a blaster. You can also pick up a blaster at vendors who specialize in props. Here is a listing of a few vendors: Unique canes. These blasters are very accurate and a bit cheaper than the Master Replicas blasters out there. However like anything it’s almost always cheaper to make your own.

For this one, a good cheap alternative vendor that most people use nowadays is DoopyDoos so if a new member hasn't heard of them perhaps add this link to this section: http://www.doopydoos.com/star-wars-props-and-replicas-31-c.asp

Quote:
9. Where can I get a three hole-belt?
A. here's a new vendor I found for 3-hole belt cuffwatches.net or beltoutlet

Todd's Costumes do the best Han 3-Hole Belt currently available so this link could be added to this section:
http://www.toddscostumes.com/costumes/han-solo-costume/han-solo-leather-belt/

That's all I have to add at the moment so I hope that's what you were after Smile

Thanks.

I've got the new costumebase holster. for what it's worth, it was approved 'formal' with no modification.

here's the Ebay link
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Han-Solo-Blaster-LEATHER-Belt-Holster-Droid-Caller-Costume-set-Star-Wars-Pouch-/360750582560?pt=US_Costumes&var=&hash=item53fe690b20
((note: I think the pictures in this link are of an early prototype or something like that,
bacause the actual holster does not look like these photos)). Neutral

it looks like this:

re: the FAQ

at this point I would NOT recommend those other two (original style) costumebase holsters,
regardless of whether they can be modified or not. they're just not worth the effort.

this new style is the ONLY one from costumebase now that is worth your time and effort.
the FAQ should reflect this Wink cheers

Thanks Cobalt-60, I hadn't seen that one yet. It is quite an improvement over the other two. Their websites only list the bad ones from what I saw when looking and can only see this one on their ebay store.
