For the heck of it, I asked Museum Replicas if they would consider making Leia and Padme hairpieces in different shades and accessories vs entire gowns. Here's what they said:

We would love to make those pieces but many of the pieces for the movies were bought from jewelry makers who have not released the license for these pieces. We're legally not allowed to make something unless the license holder lets us and in this case, we're not able to make them. Sorry.

Thoughts?

How is hair made by a jewelry maker? Things like the Packing Gown head piece is understandable, but the wig?

Museum Replicas ... weren't they making a Padme Apartment gown? Does anybody own it that can give a review?

I asked them at Comic-Con about selling Leia's ceremonial necklace, since the one they had on display was AMAZING, and same deal; they're going through an outside jewelry vender who's making them, and they won't sell separately.

I asked them about wigs, and belts, holsters, etc. So we'll see.

Sounds like they are wanting people to spend the money for an entire outfit.

Of course. In their mind, selling the stuff separately would lose money.

Like I was trying to tell them, selling 6 wigs immediately at, say $50 each vs trying to sell one outfit for $500 or whatever, would make better sense for them. Oh well.

I agree. I would be more interested in buying a part for a costume instead of the entire thing.

As for the apartment gown, if you go to their site they have reviews on that page. Just go to the page and it will be at the bottom. Of course, there are only 2 reviews, but..

I thought there also used to be another thread about this, but can't find it.
