I think once I have the grey coveralls sorted for my coming Y wing/ Millenium Falcon Gunner.
I have a full size vac table and a real Mk II helmet that I have been pulling Imperial molds from. I just need some white plastic and a commbox mold.

Hope this helps, but LFL put that technician belt on the x-wing pilot costume by mistake I guess:

This is from Exhibit in Brazil and Argentina.

Greetings! I am new to this forum and am looking for additional information concerning constructing a Rebel Tech. outfit. The belt that is commonly associated with this uniform is a US WW II/Korean War era pistol belt. The one I have was my dad's and does not have flare holders. Are the holders a necessity for a movie accurate costume? I think they would be relatively easy to make, but am just curious at this point.

Todd

For now, these are the Yavin Tech costume standards..

Required Items:

Accurate tech helmet (RFT helmet with no swoop on back and either light or dark comm box)

Light tan, beige, or light gray coverall with mandarin-style collar and pointed tab, rectangular pocket with a flap closure on upper right arm, and thigh and knee pockets. No visible zippers or snaps.

Dark tan or dark gray belt

Black boots or black shoes

Optional Items:

Mini-flares in belt

As you can see, the mini flares on the belt are optional...
but now that I am looking over the standard above, whoever made the this standard forgot to put the actual belt into the standard...
will have to make a note to change that once the Standards freeze is over.

Shocked

As you noted, they are fairly easy to do and this costume is something that is very simple, so it is nice to have the screen accurate embellishments.

Wink

Thank you for the response. Yes indeed this is a fairly easy suit to make, that is why I chose it to be my first in hopes of joining the Legion in the near future. I am also working on a RFT uniform too. Cheers!

My outfit is almost done, just waiting to do the finishing touches to the coveralls. I purchased a Rebel helmet from Jeff Allen at Studio Creations and was able to get an old British service belt on ebay that is similar to the screen version, but probably more similar to the honor guard belt (really it is somewhere in between). I will be doing the flare holders soon (the tutorial on the Yavin Hanger group is great).

I recently came across this old WWII US Marine uniform. With some mods to the collar, do you think it would work for an honor guard/officer?

Note: It is actually more green in natural light and not so blurry! Sorry

I got my charcoal grey 2" strapping in to do the belt with the miniflares. I cut my minflares from aluminum rodstock so Ill be good to go on this.
We are working on our vactable to decrease the vacuum, the pulls Im getting on my Navy MK II helmet are creating craters of the moon and I spend a week bondoing out the craters to make it smooth. Got a 560 box, so all i need is the shell. Made my own chincup mold last year.

Im going taupe on the coveralls, Ill do my conversion on all cotton coverells and dye them when Im done then submit for approval.
