Ed, if you have additional pics/text passages showing other pilots than Luke wearing the ESB garb, please send them to me. I'd love to get a ground uniform cleared.

I'd be fine claiming it as a Pilot (non-flight) Duty Uniform if you don't want it. Laughing We have no idea what we wear when not in flightsuits, and the comics just show casual wear which wouldn't fit.

I just am not sure about how to categorize the costume...

this one is a real head scratcher...

Very Happy

I do plan to add this costume to my pile of things to do as it would really only require me to make the new style gaiters....
I have everything else..

Looking at the 2nd photo on the OP (CU in turret) we can see light gray interior panels with a white/off white strip between them just behind the actors left. Both the actor and those panels are in roughly the same light. The coveralls are definately a tan/beige/sand color when compared to those set elements.

As to what class, it depends. Generally, in the military coveralls are worn in environments where you are expected to get dirty in the performance of your duties or you are in an environment where you do not want your uniform to get caught on controls or exposed equipment.

Of course if you are a Jedi/General/Princess, you get to wear whatever you want. RHIP exists in AGFFA Laughing

Administratively, I'd cast my vote to not group them in with the pilots. The only thing in common is the style of the coveralls. The rest of the uniform is composed of elements from the Endor Commando.

Being a judge for both Pilots and Troopers, I would say it will be easier to educate Trooper judges on coveralls that it will to train pilot judges on how to evaluate Endor "donuts", ANH-15 helments, vests, gaiters, pistol belts and correct ammo pouches, etc.

Might be a moot point. @ NYCC, Cracken's new action figure was described as a "Trooper."

One thing though..is still a color issue..

case in point..

what color do these coveralls look like on the guy on the left?

no cheating...

no looking...

they are gray....
I know this because I corresponded with the guy on the left wearing it..

I thought of making that costume already last winter and took some screenpics (sorry, they´re only copied to a word-file so I can´t put it on picasa). My idea at that time was to create a "never seen before costume".

I called the two guys in the Falcon´s cockpit "Falcon technician"--->"Preasure steady!", and as technicians I "gave" them grey coveralls.
And I didn´t know anything about Airen Cracken at that time...

Compared to Lando´s beige vest/ shirt and to their own vest the coverall looks gray in my clouded eyes...
And therefore they are "Troopers", imho...

That could be the same collar. Take one of your own mandarin-collar jumpsuits, hide the overlap, and turn down the collar and you'll see that it looks much like a normal collar. The US military ACU uniforms are built like this too.

I don't know...
I think they are two different ones...

the one on the right could even be just a shirt and pants...
note the slight color difference from the top to the bottom?

I would love to see a larger image of the one on the right..

Personally, I'd definately sazy differnt collars. one modified and one "off the shelf". If fitted right, and the top button fastened, that's how it would look. Similar to the old BDU tops.
