Hi Schph Gochi, your name actually came up. I work with Ryan Day who is a Biker Scout in the 501st. In our Star Wars discussions your name came up with all this costuming stuff. He said you knew each other. He had nothing but postitive stuff to say about how you. Also how you have helped others in the Legion. Very Happy

It's a small universe after all. Very Happy

I have just arrived here on Rebel Legions. I went to my first Comic Con last month and the costumes were epic. I wanted to try my hand at cosplay. Like s.marlinfan, I think I'll start off with a Rebel Pilot Flight Suit, since you have a Yahoo Group for that one. If anyone wants to e-mail me some instructions on how to get started, please do. I'm a total noob. My background in Star Wars is fairly decent, I enjoyed Dark Horse Star Wars comics for many years and the movies of course. I sort of stopped following the universe after they killed off Chewbacca, the Yuuzhan Vong invasion was just to sad for me. But I digress, I just went to this blog: http://livefromthegalaxyfarfaraway.blogspot.com/
Awesome, I never knew Star Wars could be used to make such a positive impact. I volunteer with Advocate Hospice one day a week, but I work with adults, the elderly. It is hard to lose patients to the illness. But its rewarding if you can make a persons day by visiting. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and compliment you all on your fine work. Thanks for reading, Michael Bwing
PS These emoticons are fantastic : )

Howdy michael36175 welcome aboard as a fellow newbie. Hope we don't have to wait and join the academy next year. Pilot

So with two newbies do we have to go through some rookie pilot initiation/hazing or something? Laughing

Hey Marlin and Krix, hope ur Labor Days went great, mine was awesome. Thanks for the welcome. I'm still a pending member of the yahoo group so I can't really see anything yet. The facebook photos of each part of ur flight suit are great, always important for me to have a visual reference. I'll definitely be careful in buying parts. Here's hoping our Tuesdays go well highfive

I can't enough of these emoticons lol.

generally there is a wide variety of things to do...

We troop closely with the Midwest Garrison...and there is usally at least one event every weekend...
and most of the time...
there is more than one thing....

You guys are a welcoming and great group so far. Thanks for giving me access to the Outlaw Yahoo Group, I'm gonna go through the files this weekend and get started. I saw Crix's Outlaw Bartlett Kill Counter thread on here. That's so cool and lolzy Smile An event or two every weekend you say, that's amazing! I tried a google search for Discovery World, is it the place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin? They only have one event in there program section for October so far and its something about coral reefs? Please link me to the Discovery World event you mentioned, I'd be glad to come by and introduce myself. I don't know if I'll have a quality x-wing pilot suit by then but I can try. Also, is there an event's thread for Nar Shaadaa Base? Like an events calendar where I could just go and see a list of events for this month. I tried using the forum search, endor base seems to have one but I don't have access and they are based in California anyway I think. I looked at the calendar on Outlaws Yahoo Group but it appears unused. Let me know and have a great Saturday everybody! Awing

michael36175
as far as a event planning thread..

we do have one http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=278
if that link dosent work for you, then you need to be a member.. I am not %100 sure on that.
Its mainly for US to plan our events, not really for the public anyway...

since you are from IL, I would suggest checking out
the Midwest garrison - the bad guys:lol:
http://midwestgarrison.com/forum/index.php?sid=ffef0ea917dfc0a18ad1795842d6fd28

we work very closely with them, and pretty all of our troops come through them anyway. and most of us here(not all) have 501st costume too. We do almost all of our planning on their boards.

also on Facebook check out "501st Midwest garrison" they post alot of events on their page..

Yes...
only full members (which means you have at least one approved, formal costume) can see those planning threads..
