Thanks to the masterful sewing job done by Mountain Princess (Stephanie Bradley), and a wee bit of paint, my Endor Trooper (Trench Coat) is now completed.

I am very happy with how this looks and feels. I used a very lightweight Egyptian cotton... partly because it was cheaper, but also because I want this costume to breathe.

The rest of of the costume is the same as my vest wearing trooper, but I think I'll remove the side pouch when I wear the trench coat. I don't like how it bellows out on that side.

The side pouch makes me look lopsided, so I'll remove it when wearing the trench coat for troops.

Ye olde Alice pack.

And here is a pic of it after painting. But I did add a bit more moss and basil to it after this pic.

I hope you like it. I know I sure do.

Good job, Bill...

Looks as good as (if not better than) mine.

Mine was a simple lab coat, but I wonder if your coat is more breatheable...

Thanks, guys. Smile I'm tickled pink with the trench coat. I never thought it would make that much of a difference, but I do love the look and feel of it. We're also adding more Endor troopers here in Colorado, so it'll be nice to have visual variety.

I'll let you know how it feels after I troop in it. Right now, we are getting hit by monsoon weather, so by Colorado standards, it is incredibly hot and humid. Granted, anything above 8% is humid by those standards... but I think it will work nicely.

I have to thank my wonderful models, Scuba Jedi and Greywolf for filling out the costumes as I painted them. I could not have done it without their help. Cool

Looks to me...OUTSTANDING!! Nice paint job!!! I like it!

I agree, with the side pouch on, it does look lopsided, but why not where it on the outside? It'd probably look darn good, and ya gotta have a place to stash your bino's! Smile

There isn't really a canon way to put it on the outside. The pouch I have is what we called a "butt pouch", they went on your rear, attached to the web belt, but under the alice pack. With the vest, I just put it on the side, and it worked well.

Once I get my demo charges painted (lazy me, I have had them forever), I am thinking of something like a messenger bag in design and function. Not fully canon... but a combo of the grenade sash look and a side pouch that goes on the outside and holds the charges.

Especially as we add more ERTs here, I think it is best that we have some visual differences. We don't want cookie cutter troopers. Cool

Very Happy

I second That Footwear CRL modification. Off to the Legion Council. Laughing I love the idea of ERT varity. For non cannon events I am going to carry a canteen with me and try to make a grenade/ blaster pack holder out of the sling. I always thought the ERT needed to have a canteen. For my own sanity I just tell myself they are in the backpacks, who knows one of them might even be a water cooler itself.

A messenger or mussette bag may not be canon, but it would look cool, and it would be a good place to carry the demo charges! Laughing

The hard cases full of demo charges look like some sort of battery boxes but just checked some refernce photos and they're way to narrow to fit a standard 12V car battery. Same kind of "rib" shapes for strength, but smaller. Hmm. Back to the research..

Sportsman's Guide still has the "as close as we can find to screen accurate" canvas rucksacks

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/used-czech-military-rucksack-olive-drab.aspx?a=713546

Snaps for the pockets on screen, but natural fabric, only two pouches, and uses the "hook and D-ring" type of straps - you can see one coming apart in the photos over at studiocreations.com

Cool. I also saw in the teaser trailer for the Blu Ray that there is a scene in the shield bunker with a lot more fighting. It looks like ERTs get a lot more screen time. I'm looking forward to seeing what that shows.

I'm sure those deleted scenes will be on Youtube within 24 hours of the BluRay release. Wink
