Wore my Naboo Pilot to a Legoland event on Sunday...
suffice it to say that the general public found the costume as exciting as wet paint...
most did not know the costume...and cared less...

Heh heh, I know that feeling. Try wearing a B-wing pilot out in public and at smaller events. Most people will just ignore you.

Same with my A-Wing pilot...

Great job on the Naboo pilot anyway!

Phyllis, I've had some in my reference album on flickr:

I don't recall a button, but that back flap looks like it's probably covering the seam where the center back panel (which looks like it has a box pleat in the middle, btw) seam is.

Edit: Found a cache of blu-ray caps. Replaced some of mine out with those.

Also tell me if I'm crazy, but does anyone else see a brownish leather-like binding/bias tape around the upper portion of the cuff?

I am certain that you are not crazy...
well..
not any crazier than the rest of us...
but...
I don't remember seeing anything on the upper portion of the cuff

I would imagine it would show up in this shot from the jungle on Naboo..

and..
I think I should be able to fix my outer jacket to make the back more correct...

and..
lastly ..

one thing I did notice when I saw PM 3D on the big screen and was actively looking at the Pilots in the background and in every scene they were in...
there were indeed quite a number of Pilots running around with no outer coat on..
just the gold tunic...

Trying to see if I can crank this out before Celebration.

I got my red undershirt finished the other night, and my mockup of the suede shirt done. Cutting/starting to sew is today's project before work.

Gloves are ordered, boots are in! I just need to trim the straps on the shin covers!

Helmet isn't exactly where I want it with a paint job, but it's better. I still need to attach the ear cups and put some padding in there.

My harness should almost be done, and I'm eagerly waiting on that.

After that, I just need to make the pants (easy) and then tackle the outer jacket!

Good luck!
I'm in a rush myself. Still have to finish painting my two B-wing pilot helmets and attach the greeblies, put a couple finishing touches on my belt, finish up the flak vest, and put together the gaiters... Of course, the person who's been sewing had her sewing machine die, so we're scrambling to figure out what to do.
I'm also hoping to put a chin strap onto my cloth cap, but if that doesn't happen before CVI I'm not going to worry about it.

Sometimes I wish there was another month before the Celebration. Shocked

Most of the outer-shirt got done today!

I just need to add the facing and hem this puppy. I'm not going to add the sleeves for Celebration; too hot, and I'll have the Jacket on to cover it anyway.

My undershirt's now doing a weird pucker thing since I won't tighten up the collar. We'll have to see what I can do to fix that.

Awesome...glad you are "on it"....
I keep saying I need to fix my coat ....but...to be honest...I have only worn the costume twice...and don't see me wearing it much in the first place...so I am not in a hurry to add that belt thingy/detail on the back....

I wish I had room in my luggage to bring the Naboo Pilot to C6
...but it ain't gonna happen..

Crying or Very sad

I'm still not happy about how this suede is a few shades darker than I would like. I have a lot of fabric left, so I think I'm going to try to sun-bleach it down a few shades and make the 2nd/long sleeve version with that.

Boooo. The brown leather gloves I ordered are nearly black. Sad Back on the hunt for lighter red-brown...

Pants and shirts are done! I've got a mock-up of my coat that I'm going to tackle today.

Just curious, but what's the RLSC panel? I suppose I should really look at the Celebration schedule...

Despite the attempts to make it the "Orange Power Hour", we welcome ALL pilots! Be warned if you attend you might get press ganged up on stage to be an example! Laughing
